’60s-sounding Welsh blues singer Aimee Anne Duffy - known professionally as Duffy - released her debut single Rockferry in December 2007. After relocating to London in 2006, she came to the attention of Rough Trade. She is often compared to late ’60s soul diva Dusty Springfield and has experienced significant mainstream success with the single Mercy reaching #1 in the United Kingdom. The debut album, Rockferry, was released in March 2008, and also made #1 on the UK album chart. Bernard Butler of Suede worked extensively on the album, lending it an authentic and wonderfully produced lush ’60s sound.
The 24-year-old’s debut album, Rockferry, triumphed at the 2009 BRIT Awards for British Album, British Female Solo Artist, and British Breakthrough Act.

Endlessly
Duffy Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I'm counting down the days
When you will come my way
Endlessly,
I fall asleep to a dream
And you're here again it seems, endlessly
In all of the things I do
Still I'll keep looking,
'Til I find you,
'Til I find you
Endlessly,
I turn to every door
And it's you I'm hoping for, so endlessly
I'm looking for you every where that I go
In all of the things I do
Still I'll keep looking
'Til I find you
'Til I find you
'Til I find you
'Til I find you
The song "Endlessly" by Duffy is a heart-wrenching track about longing for love. Duffy sings about counting down the days until she is able to be with someone who she believes will complete her. Her sorrowful tone is amplified by the repetition of the word "endlessly," which emphasizes the cyclical nature of her hopelessness, longing, and searching. She falls asleep to a dream where this person is with her, yet wakes up feeling empty, with no signs of their impending meeting. Duffy sings about looking for this person in everything she does, making it clear that her thoughts are consumed with the hope of finding this special someone.
The lyrics paint a picture of a person who is desperate for happiness and fulfillment. She seems to be looking for someone to complete her and make her feel whole. The fact that she keeps looking is a testament to her faith in love and her hope for a brighter future. However, it is clear that this hope comes with a lot of pain and disappointment. Duffy's haunting vocals and the simple piano accompaniment work together to create an atmosphere of intense longing and sadness.

It looks like it wasn't creatively different from her first album. She came out the same time as Adele - if you listen to her first and second album there's a different sound and vibe. Normally sophomore albums are crucial for artists because it keeps them relevant if it's good. This album was a little more slow compared to her first album. The studio also probably felt like it wasn't going to be a smash so no marketing money.
