Whenever I meditate deeply, I end up thinking about you.

I find myself with you face to face
In my mind, I picture myself being face to face with you.

In my mind there's nothing left to say except, "I love you"

Every possible way to sing a love song seems to have been sung before.

And hasn't every way to phrase the message been done
Every possible phrase that expresses love seems to have been exhausted.

Haven't all the great ones sung the melodies that've wooed you
Haven't all the great singers sung melodies that have won your heart.

And aren't there other songs to be sung with messages untold
Are there not other songs that could have messages that have yet to be expressed.

Seems that we've lost our will to challenge the mind
It appears that we lost creativity to come up with something new to challenge the mind.

And be a unique kind of art it's been for me
For me, creating unique types of love songs has been my art form.

Oh a teacher or prophet by pen
My pen has served as a tool for teaching or prophecy.

Girl but wait, don't get me wrong, I love a good good love song
Please don't misinterpret my words, I still love listening to good love songs.

One that gets me real good, when I close my eyes
A love song that speaks to the core of my heart and touches my soul.

I only seem to find the words "I love you"
Unfortunately, "I love you" is the only message I hear in most love songs.

"I love you", girl I can't help myself
I can't help that the sentiment "I love you" is the one I feel when I think about you.

And as long as you keep needin' them
As long as there are people who need love songs.

I'll keep servin' 'em till my last breath
I will continue to create and perform love songs as long as I live.

No, I'm not alone, there're others like you and me
I am not the only one who needs and enjoys love songs.

'Cause there's always someone who wants
There is always someone out there who yearns for love.

To tell their story of need
To express their desires for love.

It's a simple story, one as old as time
The story of needing or giving love is a simple and timeless one.

And we all know that sometimes
We are all aware that sometimes.

Love don't have no reason or rhyme
Love doesn't necessarily follow any reason or pattern.

Hingin' on to those love songs
Clutching onto those love songs as if they give hope or comfort.
