They played and recorded wth all the greats of their day such as Louis Armstrong and Gene Krupa. They also recorded on every major record label like Epic, RCA, Audio Fidelity, Columbia and Decca just to name a few. The Dukes ended in 1974 with the death of Frank Assunto. Although the real Dukes are no more their one of a kind recordings have never been equaled. While there is another group calling themselves the dukes of dixieland and have falsely tried to lay claim to the Assunto Dukes legacy they can never equal the Real Dukes of Dixieland. All one has to do is to compare their recordings. For more documented history of the Real Dukes of Dixieland please visit www.thedukesofdixieland.com

John Shoup take the
Pandora link off your website and comply with your signed legal settlement.
You've been sued 2x's by the Assunto Family and the first case ended with this
as being factually true.
DON'T BE CONFUSED...It
is a fact that Frank and Freddie Assunto created and led the #1 Jazz Band in
America from the early 1950's through early 1974 known as The Dukes of
Dixieland. They played and recorded with all the greats of their time and also
appeared on numerous TV shows from the 1950's through the 1960's. Their
untimely deaths, Freddie in 1966 (36) and Frank in 1974 (42), ended the reign
of the Dukes of Dixieland. Decades later, on June 15, 2000, the Estate of Frank
Assunto was forced to bring legal action to prevent the unauthorized use of the
Assunto Brothers' musical legacy and accomplishments by various individuals
and/or entities. The facts of this case are public record in the Civil District
Court for the Parish of Orleans, Division "E," Case # 2000-9440.So
now the fact is very straight forward, after Frank Assunto's death in 1974, no
one using the Assunto legacy or the name Dukes of Dixieland has ever had any
connection to the Assunto Brothers or their Dukes of Dixieland (even though in
the past it had been advertised otherwise). As such, the Assunto Family regrets
if anyone has been misled in any way as we have no control over the actions of
others. We can only hope that after the conclusion of our legal actions which
ended in October 2011, there should be no further confusion or
misrepresentation of the Assunto Brothers or their Dukes of Dixieland.Just in
case you've forgotten Shoup and your lawyers.....The facts of this case are
public record in the Civil District Court for the Parish of Orleans, Division
"E," Case # 2000-9440.4.2 The Assunto Legacy.Mr. Shoup agrees that

herein, in any way, whether by words, photographs, likenesses, drawings, video,
music, or otherwise, in connection with the marketing, promotion, advertising,
or other public or private dissemination of information (including on any web
sites) regarding the Shoup Dukes, including but not limited to, the
distribution, sale, marketing, or other offering of recorded music, live
performances, and/or the distribution, sale, or marketing of other types of goods
or services. Mr. Shoup further agrees that he will not state or suggest that
either he or the Shoup Dukes have any historic connection whatsoever to the
Assunto Legacy. If any such reliance upon, reference, or use to which this ยง
4.2 refers inadvertently remains and is hereafter discovered, Mr. Shoup shall
have a cure period of fifteen (15) days from the date of written notice to have
such references removed. And I was nice enough to give you over 30 days
