1) A Norwegian rock band from Trondheim.
They started up in the late 1970s as a punk band under the name Wannskrækk. Wannskrækk released one of the most sought-after Norwegian punk seven inches called "Faen kuler treffer aldri riktig" in 1981, the year after the Wannskrækk 12" was released. Wannskrækk moved on and reinvented themselves with a new name and a somewhat new sound in 1985.
This shift invoked the beginning of one of the greatest success stories in Norwegian rock ever. The new name, DumDum Boys, was taken from a song on the album "The Idiot" by Iggy Pop. Their debut album, Blodig Alvor (na na na na na), is still regarded as one of the classic albums in Norwegian rock. The same is said for their following 1989 album, Splitter Pine. They are still the only band that have won "Spellemannsprisens Rock Category" (the Norwegian version of "Grammy Awards") three times in a row.
Third album Pstereo fulfilled the trilogy of award-winning LP's, including the two others mentioned above. The song "Splitter Pine" is one of the most well known rock-singles in the history of Norwegian rock. Since then, bass player Persi Iveland has been replaced by Aslak Dørum, who now is the song-writer alongside rock legend and guitarist Kjartan Kristiansen. Kristiansen is one of the most respected song-writers in Norway, especially because of his well written and important lyrics, sung by frontman Prepple Houmb. Sola Johnsen is still the drummer and has been that since the late 70's. He's released a solo-ep called "Verdens Beste Trommis" ("Worlds Greatest Drummer"), as a tribute to Led Zeppelin hero John Bonham.
After a seven year hiatus, they had a very successful tour in Norway during the summer of 2004. They went back into the studio in 2005 and released their critically acclaimed new album "Gravitasjon" in March 2006. "Gravitasjon" showed that DumDum Boys is still a band influenced by the punk rock scene.
2) French garage rock band from Nice.

Hei Det Er Meg
DumDum Boys Lyrics

Så lett som luft
Du hoppet først, det kom ingen etter
Jeg trodde du kunne fly
Har dratt meg hit etter håret
Kan du gi tegn, så få se det nå
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen her
Hei, det er meg
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen
Alt for tyst uten deg her
Og hinsides trist
Er du langt avsted, eller er du nær
Og hører på
Folk sier så mye rart
Selv ser jeg helsvart - det må skje no' nå snart
Hei, det er meg
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen her
Hei, det er meg
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen
Langt, langt nede, til liten nytte
Fins det en sjangs for at vi kan bytte
Hei, det er meg
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen her
Hei, det er meg
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen
Det kanke ende her
Og være slutt
Det skulle vært meg
Som lå der rett ut
The lyrics of DumDum Boys's song "Hei det er meg" convey the sense of desperation and loneliness that comes from feeling abandoned by someone you care about deeply. The song starts with the singer admiring the ease with which the person he's addressing seems to go through life, likening it to the lightness of air. He believed that the person could fly, but now feels like he has been dragged to where he is by the hair. He pleads with the person to acknowledge him and not leave him feeling isolated and alone. The absence of the person has left him feeling incredibly sad and unsure if they are far away or near, but either way, he feels like he is missing out on something by not being with them.
Despite the reassurances offered by other people, the singer sees things in only black and white and feels like something needs to happen soon for him to find hope again. He believes there is a chance for something to change as long as they can switch places, but he needs the other person to acknowledge him and not let him be alone. The song ends on a somber note, with the singer wishing that it was he who was knocked out instead of being in the situation he is in now.
Overall, the lyrics of "Hei det er meg" portray a sense of longing, loneliness, and a desperate need for connection. The chords of the song are not available at this time.

Alt du gjorde så så lett ut
Everything you did looked so easy
Så lett som luft
As easy as air
Du hoppet først, det kom ingen etter
You jumped first, and nobody followed
Jeg trodde du kunne fly
I thought you could fly
Har dratt meg hit etter håret
I've dragged myself here by my hair
Kan du gi tegn, så få se det nå
Can you give a sign, so I can see it now?
Hei, det er meg
Hey, it's me
Ikke la meg bli alene igjen her
Don't leave me alone here again
Alt for tyst uten deg her
It's too quiet here without you
Og hinsides trist
And beyond sad
Er du langt avsted, eller er du nær
Are you far away or near?
Og hører på
And listening
Folk sier så mye rart
People say so many strange things
Selv ser jeg helsvart - det må skje no' nå snart
Even I see all black - something has to happen soon
Langt, langt nede, til liten nytte
Far, far down, to little use
Fins det en sjangs for at vi kan bytte
Is there a chance that we can switch?
Det kanke ende her
It can't end here
Og være slutt
And be over
Det skulle vært meg
It should have been me
Som lå der rett ut
Lying there straight

Helt rå låt! Teksten passet så utrolig godt til stemningen i begravelsen til Gustav Lorentzen. Prepple og Kjartan fremførte den så stilfult og med respekt, takk gutta! Hvil i fred Gustav!
