Dee Dee formed Dum Dum Girls as a solo project—the name a nod to both The Vaselines’ album, Dum-Dum, and the Iggy Pop song Dum Dum Boys — and released a home-recorded CDR on her label Zoo Music followed by a 7" on HoZac and a 12" EP on Captured Tracks.
Dum Dum Girls released their full-length debut album "I Will Be" on March 30th, 2010 on Sub Pop. Produced by Dee Dee and Richard Gottehrer (Strangeloves, Voidoids, Blondie, The Go-Gos and, more recently, The Raveonettes), I Will Be is neither lo-fi nor too polished. Just under thirty minutes with eleven songs, it’s a short tribute to love, loss, fun, fear and the classic pop form of the ’60s girl groups and early punk rockers.
Dum Dum Girls released their second full-length album "Only In Dreams" on September 26, 2011. The Hold Your Hand Songfacts reports that it was recorded in Josh Homme’s Pink Duck studios and deals with the trauma of parental loss and emotional distance.
Sub Pop released the band's EP "He Gets Me High" in early 2011.
Sub pop released the band's EP " End of Daze November 25, 2012.
On January 28, 2016, Dee Dee announced the closure of the Dum Dum Girls and the creation of a new solo project, Kristin Kontrol.

The ceiling undulates, the fault of some strange pill
I see your body in the doorway, so it seems
I must accept my eyes betray these half-dreams
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
The hours to the sunrise creep, but I don't care
There is no hope for any sleep if you're not here
In another scene, in another bed you're sleeping
So won't you come and visit me when I'm dreaming
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
I fear that I'll never sleep again
I fear that I'll never sleep again
I fear that I'll never sleep again
I fear that I'll never sleep again
Whoa-oh
Whoa-oh
Whoa-oh
Whoa-oh
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
Oh, I need your bedroom eyes

Oh, I need your bedroom eyes
The song "Bedroom Eyes" by Dum Dum Girls is from their 2011 album "Only in Dreams." The song is about longing and desire for a lover's presence, specifically their "bedroom eyes." The song's lyrics set a dream-like atmosphere as the singer relaxes and tries to sleep but cannot because their lover is not present. The verse "The ceiling undulates, the fault of some strange pill" suggests a hazy, dreamlike state created by being under the influence. The singer admits to seeing their lover's body in the doorway, which they think is just a half-dream due to their longing for them.
The chorus of "Bedroom Eyes" consists of the plea for the lover's presence, or their "bedroom eyes" which the singer needs, further emphasizing the desperate longing in the song. The bridge of the song features the repetition of the line "I fear that I'll never sleep again," which emphasizes the impact of the separation from the lover on the singer.
In summary, "Bedroom Eyes" by Dum Dum Girls captures the feeling of longing and desire for a lover's presence, undertaken by the sleepless speaker in a dream-like state. The repeated chorus of "Oh, I need your bedroom eyes" demonstrates the desperation of the singer's desire.
