Isabelle Fontaine was born and raised in the French countryside with the voices of Edith Piaf, Charles Trenet, and Yves Montand ringing in her ears. Growing up, she spent endless hours listening to the family's old records and although she had no intention of becoming a professional musician, she loved singing. During her college years, her life took an unexpected turn when she joined a group of friends and started performing as a vocalist. She abandonned her plans of teaching English and instead spent the next twenty years singing and playing the snare drum throughout France, with trips to Spain and over the Alps to Switzerland. During this period, she developped an unconditional love for the Ladies and the Dukes of the Big Band Era, and the great composers of the American Songbook. She was eventually drawn to the gypsy swing of Django Reinhardt and The Hot Club of France, the perfect union of her French cultural heritage and the world of Jazz. Somewhere along the way, she picked up the guitar and applied her impeccable sense of rhythm to the stringed intrument. In 2004 she moved with her family to the San Francisco Bay Area and has since become sought after not only for her singing but for her rhythm guitar playing as well.

In 1983, he went to France for a year to study and ended up joining a band and staying on another 20 years. He performed throughout Europe both as a solo artist and with a variety of groups, releasing three solo albums and a dozen more with other artists. Over the years Jeff has shared the bill with a wide variety of artists: from Bob Brozman to B.B. King, Joe Louis Walker, to Arlo Guthrie and Stephane Grapelli. Jeff has his own Blues band and also plays with The Hot Club of San Francisco. La vie en rose
Duo Gadjo Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The song 'La Vie en Rose' by Duo Gadjo paints a portrait of a woman who has found the love of her life. The lyrics describe the man as having eyes that bring hers down, a smile that gets lost on his lips, and a natural beauty that does not need any retouching. She is completely devoted to the man and feels an overwhelming happiness when she is in his arms.
The chorus, "Je vois la vie en rose," which translates to "I see life in pink," signifies that the woman is in love and that love has given her a new perspective on life. The man speaks softly to her, using words of love that give her an indescribable feeling. She knows she has found a source of joy that will always be with her, despite any troubles or sorrows that may come their way.
Throughout the song, the woman repeats that the man is hers, and she is his. They share a bond that will follow them throughout their lives, as he has sworn to her eternal loyalty. The intense feelings of love are so life-altering that they make her forget all the hardships and sadness in the world, leaving her happy and content.

With eyes which make mine lower,
A smile which is lost on his lips,
That's the unembellished portrait
Of the man to whom I belong.
When he takes me in his arms
He speaks to me in a low voice,
I see life as if it were rose-tinted.
He whispers words to declare to me his love
Words of the everyday
And that does something to me.
He has entered into my heart
A piece of happiness
the cause of which I know full well.
It's him for me, me for him in life
He said that to me, swore to me "forever".
And as soon as I see him
So I feel in me
My heart which beats
May the nights on which we make love never end,
A great joy which takes its place
The trouble, the grief are removed
Content, content to die of it
When he takes me in his arms
He speaks to me in a very low voice,
I see life as if it were rose-tinted.
He whispers words to declare to me his love
Words of the everyday
And that does something to me.
He has entered into my heart
A piece of happiness
the cause of which I recognise.
It's him for me, me for him in life
He said that to me, swore to me forever.
And as soon as I see him
So do I feel in me
My heart which beats

My favorite version of La Vie En Rose 🥰
@vocho6563
