Duo Kie nace en 1998 como consecuencia de la amistad que surgió entre Locus… Read Full Bio ↴Duo Kie nace en 1998 como consecuencia de la amistad que surgió entre Locus y Nerviozzo, tras un colaboración entre ambos en 1997, gracias a Kool Dj X, Dj de Nerviozzo por aquel entonces. Ambos habían desarrollado su carrera en solitario habiendo publicado un disco cada uno.

El primer disco juntos se tituló "2000 y pico", si bien todavía no se llamaba Duo Kie, sino que el disco se publicó con los nombres de "Nerviozzo + Locus Amenus". Así, el primer LP del grupo con este nombre es el de "La famosa 12/13", en el que cuentan con colaboraciones de Tone.

El segundo LP de Duo Kie implicó un cambio de compañía discográfica hacia EsTaoChungo Records. El nombre de este disco fue "Non freno" y de él cabe destacar colaboraciones de grupos fuera del movimiento Hip-hop como el grupo español de rock Hamlet. En 2002, en la gira de presentación de "Non Freno", se une Dj Time, si bien no es miembro oficial del grupo hasta la salida de su siguiente disco.

Un nuevo cambio de compañía discográfica continuó la carrera del grupo. En este caso la elegida fue Avoid, pero hasta el último momento estaba planeado su fichaje por Bombos Records, la compañía dirigida por El Chojin. Una vez afincados en su nueva compañía publicaron un maxi titulado "Hoy no", adelanto de su tercer disco "Barroco". Este disco es interesante pues está planteado como una sesión continua de música ya que no hay pausa entre los temas y están enlazados uno tras otro, como hacía Busta Rhymes en sus primeros discos.
