SUNRISE
Duran Duran攀 Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Lalalala lalalala lalalala-la
Now the time has come,
The music between us
Though the night seems young-
Is at an end
Only change will bring
You out of the darkness
In this moment everything is born again
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Now the fireball burns,
We go round together
As the planet turns into the light
Something more than dreams to
Watch out for each other?
Coz we know what it means to be alive
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Feel the new day,
Enter your life,
Feel the new day,
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky
You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life
Reach up for the sunrise
Put your hands into the big sky

You can touch the sunrise
Feel the new day enter your life

Overall Meaning

In Duran Duran's song Sunrise, the lyrics describe the turning point in a person's life where they are ready to embrace change and start anew. The song opens with the repetition of "Lalalala lalalala lalalala-la," which is a common technique to grab the listener's attention through repetition. The first verse suggests that the "night" (a metaphor for a period of darkness or struggle) is coming to an end, and that only change can bring the individual out of it. The lines "In this moment, everything is born again" indicate the idea of rebirth or renewal, which further emphasizes that this is a turning point in one's life.

The chorus instructs the listener to "reach up for the sunrise, put your hands into the big sky" to touch the sunrise and feel the new day enter their life. The sunrise is a powerful symbol of hope and new beginnings, and the lyrics suggest that this is a moment for the listener to seize and embrace. In the second verse, the sun is compared to a "fireball" which is burning and causing the planet to turn into the light. This metaphor suggests that the listener can also become a source of light and positivity for themselves and for others.

The final chorus highlights the message of the song's lyrics - that we all have the power to embrace change and start anew, to reach for the sunrise and feel the new day enter our lives, and to watch out for one another as we do so.

I'm glad to be Hungarian, but sad at the same time, because I can't get amazed like you guys about Gulyás or the baths etc. :D
I've always wanted to know how Budapest look like from a tourists perspective. Thank you for this video, I hope you liked it here.
If you came back some day, you should visit more cities around the country.
Hungary is relatively small, so if you have like one week, you can visit most of them for an entire day. For example:
-Pécs: It was Europe's cultural capital. The city is in the Southwest region of the country. This city has so many faces and impacts from the history. You can find almost everything here. Even cheaper prices than Budapest, but not less attractions. Highly recommend.

-Sopron: Known as the most loyal Hungarian city. In the past they need to choose between Hungary or Austria. They chose Hungary.
Also a little "jewellery box" with a historic city centre. If you climb the tower in the middle of Sopron you can see everything. Worth to see. Also this is the home of VOLT festival.

-Szeged: Known as the most sunny city in the country, also the architecture here has so many faces like Pécs. It's in the South region of the country.

Of course there's lote more than this.
Even though it's a small country, but it has so many things to see and to do. You can't get bored here.

David.

I am an American in Budapest now. The city is lovely, the people are friendly, and I feel safer walking alone on the streets at night 100X more than I would in my home city.. I cannot think of one bad thing to say about Budapest. This may be my favorite city I have ever visited, and I have been to many across the world. I love you, Budapest!

@samuelandaudrey

That is very cool to hear! Glad you've found a place you love that much.

@@samuelandaudrey I love your videos. But it's really bad that you only mentioned the "memorial" with shoes display next to the river but you didn't say what was the memorial for. Jews were tied together because the Nazis and their Hungarian collaborators didn't have enough bullets so they shot one and when he fell into the water he pulled everyone else to drown in the river.

@george12

I think you talk about different country .
