Yet to Succeed
Dwight Yoakam Lyrics

Please don't start me cryin'
'Cause I'll go on for days
It don't take a lot
But once this starts, it stays

Talking used to help
Here lately though,
that just brings it on

I'll be fine
In time
But right now
I'm just trying to forget you
And clearly I have yet to

I think I'll just leave now
Before this hurts too much
Avoiding sights from places
My eyes can't bear to touch

I didn't plan to see you
And then I saw him first

I have to say Dwight knew how to put out good music when it came to slower songs, love every one I've heard so far.what a voice.

I had to drive a truck for a few days that I don't normally drive. I was going to be driving it for about three days. I listen to only a few stations, mostly talk radio, but sometimes you just have to listen to what the radio will pick up. So within minutes of getting in this truck, I find out that the antenna is junk and once you've left the city, you get nothing but static. Drove me INSANE!! So the next night, I stopped at a truck stop and picked up some CD's. I was actually surprised at the selection they had. I picked up three....38 special: flashback. John Anderson: Solid Ground. And Dwight Yoakam: A long way home. Well I've been a Dwight Yoakam fan since I was a kid. I THOUGHT I had heard everything he has ever written.....until I heard THIS song! What a beautiful song! I must have played it a THOUSAND times in the last few days. Can't hear it enough... Another song that I discovered about a year ago is "Things Change". Another Excellent song by Dwight. What a great voice. Puts his heart into it.
