I am so excited to finally release this long-awaited documentary with all of you! During 5 years of practising urban exploration, this has been the most impressive and touching place I have ever seen through my own eyes and explored thoroughly. Many know Chernobyl, many know Fukushima... little know this historic Italian hilltop city that got struck by an earthquake in 2009. After filming for over 3 days, having hours and hours of footage and spending weeks of editing the final documentary is ready and will soon première! 🎥

I wouldn't go back there to live. It was a very unhealthy city before the earth quake, and now even worse. It is an unnerving city to look at with all the property piled on top of each other without adequate living space to live in would have been to much for me to stay.

It's a time capsule, and time to let that city go and build another one.

Had I been born there as soon as I was old enough to leave; I would of left there and never looked back.

That city is a time capsule in which people should have left long long ago.

This documentary has left me speechless. You did an amazing job of showing us what you saw. The church is spectacular, it looked like work had begun on a couple of the wall alcoves. The Palace was amazing, hopefully they can save the beautiful ceilings and find a talented individual to replace the missing paintings that have collapsed.

This was an amazing video! All the details of the buildings. Breathtaking views! The school was huge. But it’s sad that this people lost their beautiful homes. And couldn’t go back. And the ones who lost their life. I’m so happy to hear that they are trying to rebuild this town. Thank you so much for this💜

Essas pequenas cidades italianas são encantadoras e vc conseguiu com muita sensibilidade mostrar após esse incidente sísmico a verdadeira cápsula do tempo que se tornaram algumas casas abandonadas às pressas pela população! As casas, as ruas tomadas pela natureza! A igreja com suas maravilhosas obras e teto ainda intactos! As pinturas coloridas do castelo medieval em tons de azul! Vc é muito bom no que faz, detalhista, sensível e aplicado ao nos brindar com vídeos com essa qualidade!
Vc conseguiu transmitir com suas imagens a tristeza com a destruição e o abandono e ao mesmo tempo a Esperança com a reconstrução e a volta de moradores e os cuidados em sustentar com andaimes para restauração futura!

I was here a few days before you and review all this, after having participated in the rescue of that distant 2009 and the mind was retracing all those cursed minutes spent in that hell. I walked those streets with chills, thinking how much was lost in just 27 seconds

Understand your feelings. The little town I live in has been hit by a tornado two times with major damage. The people hurt and killed and darkness of night of looking and checking for loved ones. It’s a shame that the government didn’t tear down and up to earthquake standards rebuild this town. They just let it sit and rot all the beauty and history of it. They left it a dark mark on all the people that lived there. Out of ashes comes life.

Hope not 10 years around before that, the residente were given the chance to collect even their personal mementoes since these cannot be duplicated anymore like photographs or treasures they possessed since the govt didn't rehabilitate their town and they weren't able to live there anymore.

@@beckybell266 I live in California - we always have E.Q.'S. I would rather be hit once in 50 years than the constant flooding and hurricanes that occur near every winter. Life is full of chance and mother nature is unpredictable. But the chances of another E.Q at the exact location is minimal. Mother Earth already released the pressure there.

Thank you for the video! I also saw on tv that the parmegiano regiono cheese factory was destroyed too. A chef in italy had an idea to help w/the sale of the parmegiano, because they could not sell it. He had a cooking show using parmegian cheese in the recipe & everyone wanted to make it w/him, so they were able to sell the parmegian that had not sold before that. Very interesting.

Some of the homes appeared to have been emptied of some of the furniture and belongings, so apparently there were people who came back to get their things. Unless someone else took opportunity to come in and help themselves. Fascinating, touching; thank you for such a great explore.

Fantastic video. I am feeling so many emotions as I watch. So exciting to explore, but so thought provoking to think of all that had gone before.
I have to say that the young man documenting this is going to do really well in whatever career he chooses. Good filming, great grasp of English language, empathetically exploring interesting places, so intelligently done etc.

Amazing imagery! Haunting yet beautiful. Quiet, peaceful and depressive all within the same frame—your documentation does a superb job emoting these feelings. Thank you for sharing the experience and giving us a tour! I've always been fascinated with abandoned places and objects. Ghost towns and random one-off structures alike are so hard to come by these days that haven't been spoiled by the senseless, wanton destruction created through vandalism.

This was a very exciting place, the church ⛪ was a magnificent place. The painted ceilings and loved the beautiful beds some very distinctive. Just wish I was able to see it in person. Thank you for showing it it was a WOW place. Keep being safe, I love all your videos.

The news about it said the quake was in the night while they were sleeping so I can imagine some that’s left everything were not the lucky ones who survived. Every streeet cobbled and the architecture was amazing. Thank you

Living in a country "New Zealand" that gets many earthquakes. I can't believe the Italian government hasn't allowed people back into their houses to retrieve personal belongings. It's obvious there have been no aftershocks in the past few years, so why hasn't the government moved on this?

As far as the town is concerned, all homes with structural damage should be demolished.
The town can be built again in keeping with it's past architecture. Only this time built to withstand earthquakes.
No wonder these houses fell to the ground. Look at how they were built. Dykes are built with boulders, not houses.
If an area is earthquake prone, the foundations of the houses/ buildings needs to be constructed to withstand the severe tremors.
Many buildings and bridges in New Zealand and overseas are protected with lead dampers and lead and rubber bearings invented by a New Zealander, Bill Robinson. These devices in building foundations can reduce the motion caused by ground shaking.

What an amazing opportunity to be able to explore this Italian ghost town! I can't imagine what it must have been like for those people, not only to live through the trauma of an earthquake, but to also be forced out of your home by circumstances beyond your control. I thank God every day that I wake up safe in my own home. Because something like this can happen to anyone, at any time. Seeing things like this make you grateful for your blessings. It amazes me to see so much of this town virtually untouched. It looks as if the owners could just walk right in at any moment. I'm so glad that the city is being slowly restored. It's been a long time coming. Thank you, Maureno, for the deep respect you exercised when exploring this place. You took on a huge task to bring this documentary to the world. Fantastic job! This place must’ve been absolutely stunning. I can imagine how life must’ve been. Everyone must have known each other and looked out for one another. All the kids probably rode their bikes around and played at the park. The house with the severe black mold seemed to be a very upscale home with the marble stairs, gorgeous woodwork and large open rooms and 3-4 stories high. I bet it was stunning!

I’ve seen many pictures of Italy but this was the just like being there. I am Italian and really disagree with that video. That boy entering into houses did a crime, against our Constitution. He had any authorisation to enter into that houses. Even the loyal owners cannot enter because is. Forbidden and still dangerous. That video hurts my sensibility.

@@eileengalatte8505 I live in central Italy in an area that was hit by two earthquakes and what Margarita Resta says is correct. By law it is prohibited to enter in a restricted area and enter the homes, the fines are heavy and also there can be a risk of going to prison if caught. He was lucky that he was not seen by any locals, he could have been reported. This is because there have been many cases of looting in Amatrice and many other places in the central regions. I know his intentions are good and he wants to show the devastation of that terrible moment, but the law in Italy is strict in these cases. If he got hurt how would he have justified himself?

What a nice video to end the Italy series with!!!! Beautiful yet so sad and scary 🥺 a lot of pain and fear, if only the walls can talk! So sad that people had to leave home, their memories and everything. Still it became a beautiful place but sadly in ruins. At least they are trying to bring life to it again!!! El terremoto fue en 2009, los habitantes fueron evacuados a otros lugares ante el peligro de derrumbe, además pocos años antes hubo otro terremoto allí mismo, pienso que l las autoridades evaluaron y por decirlo de alguna manera cerraron el acceso al pueblo.

I would have loved to have lived in that village when it's had life still in it or even now. Loneliness wouldn't be a problem. I wonder where all the pets ended up?

My only complaint would have to be that the doors are not closed after departing the homes to not further the decay that will take place from the moisture.

It's strange to think that if anyone was caught here the police would take them into custody... But who else apart from trespassers would document everything in amazing quality. This was amazing to watch, it is a first person view of something we would not normally be able to see. Most of this can never be opened to the public again, the efforts made are to stop further collapse, not to make it safe, so i'm glad we can see it like this.

@Explomo All I have to say is he done a wonderful job of showing this town and time by gone of a era of a disaster. It is no different then us looking at ruins of thousands of years ago. So those that say he is wrong, maybe you are wrong. You don’t know if some people were happy to see their homes that saw this video. They left in a hurry and it might give them comfort to see the place they lived and loved. It might even get the government to start to tear down and repair these buildings and homes, rebuild the town. He did no harm, took nothing, broke into no places the doors were open, unlocked and was respectful. He is not the first to film this town and probably will not be the last. You apparently don’t know much about him or seen his work. He’s a kind respectful young man.
