Survive
E.S.D. Lyrics

I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with
Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive
I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with
Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive

I use a pencil to stencil the tension felt tip pen
And tell a dick, better be quick, to git me in the cellar get it
Meaner then pitbull stigma, liquor store open
Swig an Amsterdam and hope I miss the details that I'm Supposed to
Sixty year old's staring at sixteen year old's wearing skimp shit
That's their prerogative, turn the block, but Brock Turner
Gets six months, which brush my supposed to hit the canvas with
I guess a rigger, bout time you see the difference
It ain't the body kit, sometimes it's poorer and richer
Stick up kids is out to tax
Well what the fuck you think I'm doing when I'm out to rap
Draw a line on the street it gets crossed, S'why I fly
Like an eagle, Steve Miller, band together higher cause
Through this evil, Iron horse is filled with people tryna keep it
Together, I'm flying speeds, V.S.O.P rushes me
All together, left a lot off the palate, the green for the gavel
The ballot, the malice, shit happens when you're out in
This city, till the stains on ya jacket looks like your past
Gets nasty tryna eat, half your face looks like an animal
Paint the moon it gets dark, lose a couple friends
Know the pain, thirst to kill the villain like marvel
Filled with written scripts, pills that harm you, doctors move to foes
Hippocratic oath is gone, tragedy is upon you
Throw bottles at these AMC lights, so you can see lows
For what they are through nights, your sanity can harm you

I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with
Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive
I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with
Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive

NYC is my canvas, I brandish brushes
Colors are luscious, hit it up with just a couple of touches
As me and Redrum discuss it, I'll be adding
Streets and blends and running through cans like nothing
Bypass fake dudes, they be huffing and puffing
Ain't creating nothing, just a bunch of copy cats
And puppets every stroke fly art that you'll never forget
Embedded in your memory as dope as it gets
Pop up shops, you can cop my artist sets
Cop hats and shirts so you can adorn your flesh
I'm on that every color in the spectrum workable
Beneficial every can is stamped official
Ain't no issues, I'm sure you find something that fits you
When it's all said and done the whole world will see um
Hanging in museums and big coliseums
Painting portraits of black folks in they kingdom
Painting murals on walls so the hood will see 'em

I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with
Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive
I got blood, I mean paint on my hands
I got the brush, I'm bout to paint on this canvas with

Good lines, good lines, just a reflection
How we, survive, survive, survive

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to E.S.D.'s song "Survive" seem to describe the artist using art as a means of survival. The blood, or paint, on his hands represents the struggles he has faced, which he plans to use as inspiration to create artwork on this canvas. He describes using different tools such as a pencil and a felt tip pen to create his art, while addressing issues such as underage drinking and rape culture. The lyrics also mention his hometown of NYC, which he sees as his canvas, where he can express himself through his artwork. The chorus seems to suggest that the act of survival itself is reflected in his art.

Overall, the song appears to be about overcoming challenges and using art as a tool for self-expression and survival in a difficult world.

@bodanielTV

I am actually so pumped for this movie. I remember my baby sitter wouldn't let me watch independence day and I cracked the absolute shits. I was 6 at the time hahaha.

@josevarela4271

lol 😁

@thekingofwaffles8403

Should've seen the premier of Predator! Screaming & crying kids. Wet & smelly seats. During a neighbours sleepover with a bunch of kids I took a cassette tape of Predator noises and my dad's laser funding and scared those kids to sleep. xD

@thekingofwaffles8403

Sorry. I meant laser gunsight.

@BloodyFlowerFilms

Can't wait! Though I'm curious about how we knew they would return. Goldblum said they carried their entire civilization in the first. So something tells me that the opening of the last trailer with him in Africa and seeing the alien ship and the distress signal is 20 years ago and then everything we see now is after we took the alien tech for our own. Just a thought.

@sabinor2560

From what I can tell it was kinda like the first wave were scavengers after they were beaten they sent a distress signal. These new ones are elites with way more advanced tech.

@crazedmartinez

+Sabino Rodriguez and it was so far away it took the signal 20 years to get their ? And then how they get here so quick? Hyper drive ?

@jamyskis

"Would you like to know more?"

@Tsobanian

+jamyskis Haha yes! Starship Troopers by Paul Verhoeven FTW! It was a great film... But I still don't get that feeling from ID Resurgence.....

@countertony

Blink and you'll miss it, but the difference in manner of salutes given at 0:39 is a nice touch (since presumably the personnel are drawn from different countries' militaries, with different saluting customs.)
