The group was formed in 2000 by brothers Helmut and Franz Vonlichten. Helmut and Franz studied piano with their mother. After graduating from high school, Franz worked in recording studios while Helmut attended and graduated from UCLA, with a degree in archaeology. Their music has been licensed by many movie and television production studios, being included in numerous movie trailers and television shows. E.S. Posthumus released three albums overall in their career.
On July 22, 2010, it was officially announced that Franz died about two months before. After giving notice of his brother's death, Helmut stated that while there still may be one or two unreleased songs (One of them being their single "Christmas Eve" released in November 2010), the group would no longer be active. In November 2011, it was officially announced that Helmut Vonlichten has formed a new band called Les Friction, and released a preview at his new work with a track called "Torture".

Om Hrim Aim Kleem Saraswati Devibhyo Namaha
Saraswati Maha Lakshmi Durga Devi Namaha
Om Dum Durgayei Namaha
The lyrics of E.S. Posthumus's song "Durga" contain repetitive chants and mantras dedicated to different Hindu goddesses. The verses include prayers and invocations to Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga, who are revered deities in Hinduism.
The first two lines of the lyrics, "Om Shreem Hreem Saraswatiyei Namaha" and "Om Hrim Aim Kleem Saraswati Devibhyo Namaha," are prayers to the goddess Saraswati. Saraswati is the goddess of knowledge, wisdom, and learning. She is often depicted playing a veena, a traditional musical instrument in Hindu mythology, and is associated with arts, culture, and education. By chanting these mantras, the singer is expressing reverence and seeking blessings from Saraswati for wisdom and enlightenment.
The third line, "Saraswati Maha Lakshmi Durga Devi Namaha," is a salute to three goddesses - Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga. Lakshmi is the goddess of wealth, prosperity, and fortune, while Durga is the goddess of power, strength, and protection. Together, they symbolize the divine qualities of abundance, knowledge, and strength. This line acknowledges and pays homage to the goddesses and seeks their blessings for abundance, prosperity, and protection.
The final line of the lyrics, "Om Dum Durgayei Namaha," is an invocation to the goddess Durga. Durga is often depicted riding a lion and is considered the embodiment of feminine power and energy. She is worshipped as a protector and liberator from evil forces. By chanting this mantra, the singer is seeking the blessings and protection of Durga against obstacles, negativity, and adversity in life.
Overall, the lyrics of "Durga" are a devotional expression of reverence and prayer to the Hindu goddesses Saraswati, Lakshmi, and Durga. The chants and mantras used in the song are a way to connect with these divine entities and seek their blessings for wisdom, prosperity, and protection.
