"Verunsicherung" is German for "bewilderment/the process of getting upset/unsettled", a pun that plays on the fact that the opposite of it ,"Versicherung", commonly means "insurance", and less commonly "assurance/ensurance/affirmation". In fact, the band's name is an allusion to the now defunct Austrian insurance company "Erste Allgemeine Versicherungs-AG“.
The band's humorous lyrics often contain hints of social criticism. Their songs Afrika (Ist der Massa gut bei Kassa) (1983), Burli (1987) and S'Muaterl (1990) were boycotted by radio stations in Austria and Germany because of the lyrical content.
The band's final lineup consisted of Klaus Eberhartinger (vocals), Thomas Spitzer (guitar, background vocals), Kurt Keinrath (guitar, bass guitar), Alvis Reid (bass guitar), Franz Kreimer (keyboard) and Aaron Thier (drums). The band split in 2019 with their last concert at the Viennese City Hall on September 14.

San aa scho wieder do
Ja, was macht denn schon ein Achterl oder zwo
Beim fünften Achterl quält mich noch der Gewissensbiss
Doch was soll's, wenn dieser Tog sowieso verschissen is
Doch morgen, ja morgen, fang' ich
Ein neues Leben an
Und wenn net morgen
Dann übermorgen
Oder zumindest irgendwann
Fang ich wieder ein neues Leben an
Es is vier Uhr in der Früh
I ruf mein Schatzerl an
Und zärtlich lalle ich ins Telefon
„Du, Mausi, I bin hängenblieb'n
Waaßt eh, in mein' Lokal
Doch, des war bestimmt des letzte Mal
I schwör's!
Schau, die Haupsach' is', wir lieben uns, du waaßt wie I di mog!“
Drauf sagt zu mir mein Mausilein: „Horch zu, was I dir sag
Morgen, ja morgen, fang' ich
Ein neues Leben an!
Ganz sicher morgen
Net übermorgen
Oder vielleicht erst irgendwann
Such I mir an', der net nur saufen kann!“
The song "Morgen" by EAV tells a story of a person who wakes up in the afternoon after a night of heavy drinking. They experience physical discomfort and mental conflict as a result of their behavior. Despite this, the person assures themselves that they will start a new life tomorrow, or at least someday soon, free from their current lifestyle. However, as they pass by their favorite bar and see their drinking buddies inside, they give in to temptation and continue drinking. The song ends with the person calling their significant other, promising to change and start a new life.
The lyrics of "Morgen" illustrate the struggle of addiction and the cycle of relapse and the desire for change. The person in the song is aware of their unhealthy behavior and desires to change, but they continue to be pulled back into their old habits by triggers and temptations. The repetition of the phrase "morgen fang' ich ein neues Leben an" (tomorrow I'll start a new life) throughout the song emphasizes the person's desire for change and their repeated failure to achieve it.

Ich wach' auf am Nachmittag
I wake up in the afternoon
Der Sodbrand ist enorm
The hangover is huge
Ja, gestern war ich wieder gut in Form
Yesterday I was in good form
Im Gaumen sitzt der Pelze-Bub
The taste of the alcohol lingers in my mouth
Das Aug' ist dunkelrot
My eyes are bloodshot
Die Hypophyse spielt das Lied vom Tod
My brain is pounding and causing a headache
Während ich mich übergeb'
As I'm vomiting
Schwör' ich mir ferngesteuert
I swear to myself, almost robotically
Sofern den Tag ich überleb'
If I survive this day
Es wird nie mehr gefeiert
I will never party again
Weil morgen, ja morgen, fang' ich
Because tomorrow, yes tomorrow, I will start
Ein neues Leben an
A new life
Und wenn net morgen
And if not tomorrow
Dann übermorgen
Then the day after tomorrow
Oder zumindest irgendwann
Or at least sometime in the future
Fang ich wieder ein neues Leben an
I will start a new life again
Doch wie ich um die Ecken kumm
But as I turn the corners
Seh' ich mein Stammlokal
I see my regular bar
Und wieder hab' ich keine and're Wahl
And once again, I have no other choice
Der Franz, der Jo, der Ferdinand
My drinking buddies Franz, Jo, and Ferdinand
San aa scho wieder do
Are already there
Ja, was macht denn schon ein Achterl oder zwo
Well, what harm is there in having one or two drinks?
Beim fünften Achterl quält mich noch der Gewissensbiss
By the time I reach my fifth drink, my conscience starts to bother me
Doch was soll's, wenn dieser Tog sowieso verschissen is
But what does it matter, this day is already ruined anyway
Es is vier Uhr in der Früh
It's four o'clock in the morning
I ruf mein Schatzerl an
I call my sweetheart
Und zärtlich lalle ich ins Telefon
And drunkenly speak softly into the phone
„Du, Mausi, I bin hängenblieb'n
"Honey, I got stuck here
Waaßt eh, in mein' Lokal
You know, at my bar
Doch, des war bestimmt des letzte Mal
But that was definitely the last time
I schwör's!
"I swear it!
Schau, die Haupsach' is', wir lieben uns, du waaßt wie I di mog!'“
Look, the important thing is that we love each other, you know I love you!
Drauf sagt zu mir mein Mausilein: „Horch zu, was I dir sag
Then my sweetheart says to me 'Listen, I'll tell you
Morgen, ja morgen, fang' ich
Tomorrow, yes tomorrow, I will start
Ein neues Leben an!
A new life!
Ganz sicher morgen
Definitely tomorrow
Net übermorgen
Not the day after tomorrow
Oder vielleicht erst irgendwann
Or maybe later
Such I mir an', der net nur saufen kann!'“
"I'll find someone who can do more than just drink!"
