I remember beating this for the first time, thinking Shepard was gonna die and just shooting the tube... then despite completing 100% of the game, I didnt get the good ending because I didnt play multiplayer so I didnt have enough war assets.

Not that it mattered at the time considering it was a choice between colors.

Powerful Squadmates with real Character we care about. The Squadmates in Andromeda were kinda lackluster. Worst of all they were rather useless playing on insanity Difficultiy. Squadmates should matter. Their Power and the players commanding/leading skills should matter, too. Otherwise Mass Effect is nothing more than an above average cover shooter.

When Javik poses the question, it is rhetorical, with a clear answer, but it's also a challenge, a dare to prove him wrong. A dare that Shepard does not take, because he knows there's only one answer. When Javik says, "The silence is your answer," it is only implied that it's the answer of trillions dead. That part of the quote is directed right at Shepard, because he remains silent. Shepard has no answer for Javik.

Story driven games are my thing. I have lost count of how many I've played so far. But I have to say the mass effect trilogy did something no other game did for me. I felt like I deeply connected with the characters like I wasn't just playing as Shepard of the Normandy but I was also a crew member and part of the family. I did everything I could to help everyone survive. At the cost of my own life. And I don't regret it. I'm on my second playthrough and this time I will try to keep myself alive with them.

@Kang & Kudos ME1 was the most immersive game I ever played when a character told me a story it felt like they was telling me the story to me in real life, so when I had just finished a mission I went down to talk to my homie wrex and garrus and I asked wrex about his personal life,friends and family he told me an emotional story about how he was betrayed by another clan leader who was actually his father! And he told me that he was the only survivor and had left but his family armor was locked up by a leader of one of the other clans so I went to their planet, killed them all and took his armor and he had told me that this really was his armor and called it a "piece of crap" but he was still incredibly grateful for what I had so when I got virmire I didn't tell Ashley to shoot him and just said that I would be careful and the first thing wrex said was "Look Shepard, you have done many things for me hell more than my whole family! But if Im going to help you, I need to know I'm doing the right thing and I said "we wouldn't be doing this otherwise." And he pulled his gun down and told me alright I will help you.

But the thing I didn't know was that since I had helped wrex get his family armor he actually made the whole conversation much easier and I didn't even have to use any of my charm or intimidate options! So when I finally out about I was incredibly grateful that I had took the time to listen and talk to wrex and others like Garrus and Ashley!

@MadMonkeyMob34 G I wish I believed that but when his own notes specified he wanted "speculation for everyone" and then they shit the bed so bad with andromida i'm starting to think they just wrote themselves into a corner and couldn't figure out how to make the choices + story wrap up in a way that made sense. I mean hell if you played arrival you can wipe out an entire sector of life and it's given like 4 lines of dialog in ME3.

It's always been my ultimate favorite soundtracks. The first time I listened to the 9 minute long end credit song from the first Mass Effect all those years ago immediately got me hooked with the franchise. Then here comes An End Once And For All and Leaving Earth. Dear God... Are we truly worthy of such ever-lasting pure magnificence?

My best friend just finished a blind no spoiler playthrough of the Trilogy two days ago. The feels even when spectating throughout the run and for him in the driver's seat. Old school Bioware, games that make your companions and squadmates feel like real people and friends. In my opinion Kotor, Dragon Age, and Mass Effect most of all are the closest thing that can simulate what it's like to develop the "band of brothers" effect of bonds formed in combat, shoulder to shoulder with the soldiers beside you. So many moments that had me broken, so many that had me inspired, so many made me fall in love with the Normandy crew.

yea i doubt that's the case after yesterday's the game awards cuz they revealed a new mass effect game and at the end of the reveal was liara smiling holding a fragmenht of N7 armor that very likely could have belonged to shepard as there's no one else it really coulda been as the only N7 ops on the crew in 3 were shep and james vega tho james was only a candidate for the N7 program but could be convinced to go thru with it

The soundtrack version has such a jarring ending. I was looking for a softer ending with just piano. As this was nearing the end I was waiting to hear what you did. It hit me like a brick wall. Emotion cranked to 11. This isnt what I had in mind but is exactly what I was looking for.

Vigil gets you curious and inspired, Suicide Mission gets you pumped and excited, Leaving Earth gets you angry and terrified, and this leaves you saddened with a sense of hope.
Just like a good book, the OST of Mass Effect bring you through the whole story.

Can't wait for May, the Remaster will be glorious, and maybe it will also leave me hopeful for Mass Effect 4.

When I hear this song I remember the scene where my friends look at me in the end of the game. It is the most powerful moment in the entire game. I understand that I see them for the last time and I have to say good bye because the story ends. In spite of the ending Mass Effect Trilogy is one of the best games. I will never forget Normandy's crew and their brave commander Shepard.

Years later, this song is still one of my all time favorites from the Saga. harrowing, sad, yet hopeful. It really tugs at your heartstrings and evokes those wonderful and devastating moments from the entire trilogy.
It is made even more memorable, because you know the story that's been almost a decade in the making and playing is coming to an end. You don't want the adventure, the story and the universe to end and yet it must and this is one of the absolute best swan songs for any series ever.

This is AMAZING! It motivates me at 33 to learn piano. I started picking bass back up and I'm learning to read music. I regret never trying as a teenager. Now I'm changing that! Piano has always soothed my soul and my anxiety and issues with it. Good job!

I only played the extended edition and don’t mind the endings. Watching soldiers escape certain doom by a few seconds because some unknown mass energy wave sweeps through is powerful IMO

No matter what it is I’ll never stop loving this sound track for Mass Effect it feels like it’s filling in a missing part of my very soul when ever I listen to this it makes me wish that we lived in a future very similar to Mass Effect 1-2-3

No matter how Paragon i was i always had to pick the Destroy ending... Shepards been through so much 😢 he deserves a happy retirement with Liara and his little blue children.

@StillSameguy The Reapers physically changed the Protheans to suit their needs which is an Auxiliary force for their military. Each Collector is nothing compared to a Prothean which is why Javik said killing them was putting them out of their misery. He is philosophically correct. Synthesis just merges the conscious of life with machine. The ending proved that biologic gained logic while machine gained conscious but as you saw in the ending, it did not destroy the independent persona of each entity. This is why I see it as the perfect ending because everyone gained everything and lost nothing other than a single life that had to be destroyed. The only way to up this was that Sheppard lived. But this ending will not work for a Mass Effect 4 because how to do you create an enemy so powerful that the entire Milky Way is united and have the Reapers as an ally without taking it into Dues Ex Machina?

@Caesar Seriona From a utilitarian standpoint I can see it kind of, but it's almost exactly what the Reapers did to the Protheans. Sure there's nothing differentiating organic and synthetic, but that doesn't even mean peace, the star child was provably wrong. The geth were synthetic and they warred with themselves, the quarians were organic and they made peace with them. The only concrete effect synthesis has is violating bodily autonomy on a galactic scale.

@Arthur Groen That’s why I usually choose the Ruthless start for ME1, even if I’m going full Paragon. Makes the Destroy choice even easier. Shepard will always try to take the high road, but he’s human. He’s flawed. If presented with a choice to destroy a threat to Trillions, he’ll make the call. He’ll destroy the Alpha Relay, and hope some of the colonists survive, because he has to. He’ll destroy the Reapers, and potentially the Geth, and hope that they can somehow survive, because he has to. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.

Honestly makes his obvious exhaustion by the end of ME3 make even more sense. He hates what he’s done, what he’s had to to. He’ll argue all day about trying to find another way, about not reducing lives to basic math, but only when it comes to other people. He’s a hypocrite, he’s a human. He doesn’t want other people, especially his friends, to be forced to make the decisions he’s had to make. If blood must stain someone’s hands, let it be his.

OH MY GOD.... this is absolutely the best version i've ever heard.
The hairs on my arm is standing up, and if the had hands, every single hair strain would applaud you. There's something so beautiful and at the same time so sad about this piano play. Well done buddy.

Recently finished my first playthrough of the ME trilogy the other day. I had to get another playthrough started today. Literally the best trilogy of games I've played. Just like Tali says if she's your romantic interest. "I want more time"

I am now super stoked about the Game Awards announcement more than ever. I should have played these games years ago
