He is trying to flag a ride but nobody seems to know him and everyone passes him by. So, he falls down on his knees and asks the Lord above for mercy and hopes to be saved by him. In the next section, he talks about going down to the town of Rosedale, along with his lover while still trying to figure out which way to go.
