EMERY GARETH Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
A little bit lonely
Little bit cold here
A little bit feared
But I hold on
And I
Feel strong
Know that I can
Getting used to it
Lit the fuse to it
Like to know who I am
Been talking to myself forever, yeah
And how I wish I knew me better, yeah
Still sitting on a shelf and never
Never seen the sun shine brighter
And it feels like me
On a good day
And it feels like me
On a good day
Been talking to myself forever, yeah
And how I wish I knew me better, yeah
Still sitting on a shelf and never
Never seen the sun shine brighter
And it feels like me
On a good day
On a good day
On a good day
And it feels like me
On a good day
The lyrics of Emery Gareth's song "Metropolis" express the feelings of someone who feels disconnected from the world around them. They describe feeling lost, lonely, and afraid, but also feeling strong and resilient, despite their struggles. The singer acknowledges that they have been talking to themselves for a long time, and they wish they could understand themselves better. Despite this, they also acknowledge that they have made progress in getting to know themselves, and they feel like their true self, at least on a good day.
The lyrics use vivid imagery to convey the singer's emotions. The repetition of "little bit" emphasizes the singer's sense of disconnection from others and from themselves. The phrase "lit the fuse to it" suggests that the singer has made a decision to change their life, perhaps by taking control of their own emotional state. The image of the singer "sitting on a shelf" conveys a sense of being stuck or stationary, but the image of the "sun shine[ing] brighter" suggests that the singer still holds hope for a brighter future.
Overall, "Metropolis" is a song about the struggle to find oneself and to connect with the world, and the power of resilience and hope to overcome these struggles.

More world leaders/creators need to attend these events. The world needs love and I would say this is a clear and precise example of unconditional love. True healing and a marvelous presentation of humanity. This is our wake up call to do better!!!! Bless thy reading.

Gareth Emery…one of the best trance producers out there. My favorite for sure. I think he is #1 although people will disagree.
@Mike-dg9ib
He definitely used to be back in the day. Not really a fan of the newer stuff but I'm looking forward to seeing him soon at Ministry of Sound. Hoping to hear some of the old bangers.
@ddoublej1217
@@Mike-dg9ib the newer stuff I think is more of like base tracks now, where remixes really take the light and give the tracks that old style feel but old and new alike I personally love it all but getting more classic style songs would be crazy too
@mikelabahn
Who else do you think is like him?
@karoenpoot6677
