That's All
ESCH Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Rediscover one another from abnormal points in time
Fascination wish a way in to depart before they find
Get defamed in isolation two plus one negate divine
Feed the vicious escalation never felt such close connection
Feel the fever-patch persuasion
News-print news-peak nevermind
At an angle point of friction free-fall tip-off destiny
I've got a fistful of money I'm down with a twist
There's plenty of ways no way to resist
Every little thing is gonna be fine
What I like is gonna be mine
I've got a fistful of money I'm high at risk
There's plenty of ways I couldn't resist
6 billion souls and one urge to live
I've got a fistful of money and nothing to give
Free the hostage situation taken as a simulation
Never was a war more real taken for a dollar bill
Currency add more corruption added population problem
Feeding hunger starve the weak
News-print news-peak nevermind
Hate in desert in good favor
Diversification of the current flavor
Speak in tongues like empathy's son
See the soul disengaging the sicker they come
That's all...
The lyrics of ESCH's song "That's All" seem to be dealing with the chaos and confusion of modern life. The first stanza talks about "reading the vision map the system soon to look into the mind" - this could be interpreted as a commentary on the overwhelming amount of information and stimuli that bombards us every day, and the need to filter through it and find meaning. The idea of "rediscovering one another from abnormal points in time" implies that there is a connection or shared humanity that exists despite the chaos. However, the fear of isolation and loss of identity ("get defamed in isolation") is also present.
The second stanza seems to be talking about the addictive nature of modern culture - the "vicious escalation" of consumption and sensation, and the way that news and media can distort our perceptions ("news-peak nevermind"). The line "6 billion souls and one urge to live" highlights the shared experience of trying to find meaning in a world that doesn't always make sense. However, the idea of having "nothing to give" suggests a certain emptiness or disconnection.
The final stanza touches on the themes of conflict and disunity ("hate in desert") that seem to be driving us further apart as a society, but also leaves room for empathy and understanding ("speak in tongues like empathy's son"). The line "see the soul disengaging the sicker they come" suggests that the more we struggle against each other, the more we lose touch with our true selves.
Overall, the lyrics of "That's All" seem to be a commentary on the overwhelming and confusing nature of modern life, and the struggle to find meaning and connection amidst it all.

Just got into KMFDM and listen to them obsessively, feel like a complete dumbass for not getting into them sooner. Such diverse sounds, they have rap sounding songs, metal, and electronic.

The sound of Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos making off with billions of dollars and buying yachts bigger than your house to celebrate, while the rest of the world had to stay at home and wonder where their next paycheck would come from. That's what this song is about, but it's a fuckin' banger too. I love it, KMFDM can make you think while you rock the fuck out to their music. Great band, and even though I hate when people whine about how it's not the same now without En or Gunter, this lineup and this era was definitely when they were best.
