What a Fool Believes
EURINGER Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The sentimental fool don′t see
Tryin' hard to recreate
What had yet to be created once in her life
She musters a smile for his nostalgic tale
Never coming near what he wanted to say
Only to realize it never really was
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He′s watching her go
But what a fool believes, he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be
Is always better than nothing
Than nothing at all
Keeps sending him somewhere back in her long ago
Where he can still believe there's a place in her life
Someday, somewhere, somehow
She will return
She had a place in his life
He never made her think twice
As he rises to her apology
Anybody else would surely know
He's watching her go
But what a fool believes, he sees
No wise man has the power to reason away
What seems to be (Love can′t go, love can′t go, why can't love go!)
Is always better than nothing
Than nothing at all (Fool′s got the power, baby,
Fool's got the power, I know I should′ve gone away)
Believes, he sees (Love can't go, love can′t go, why can't love go!)
No wise man has the power to reason away
(Fool's got the power, baby, fool′s got the power)
What seems to be (Love can′t go, love can't go, why can′t love go!)
Is always better than nothing
Than nothing at all (I knew I should've gone away)
Believes, he sees (Love can′t go, love can't go, why can′t love go!)
No wise man has the power to reason away
(Fool's got the power, baby, fool's got the power)
What seems to be (Love can′t go, love can′t go, why can't love go!)
Is always better than nothing
Than nothing at all

In EURINGER's song "What a Fool Believes," the lyrics follow a nostalgic fool who is trying to recreate something that he has never experienced before. The fool is reminiscing on memories he had with a past love and is hoping that somehow they will return to each other someday. The woman in the lyrics had a place in the fool's life, but as he continues to try and recreate something that was never there, he begins to realize that he was never near what he wanted to say. The last verse concludes with the lyrical phrase "What seems to be is always better than nothing than nothing at all," highlighting the fool's perspective that even though their love may not exist anymore, the memories and the feelings they shared will always be better than nothing.
