The concept exists since 2011, but the first group under EXILE TRIBE called EXILE debuted allready back in 2001. Troughtout the years different groups (sometimes seen as units) were added to EXILE TRIBE, wich are at the moment EXILE, EXILE THE SECOND, Sandaime J Soul Brothers, GENERATIONS, THE RAMPAGE, FANTASTICS, BALLISTIK BOYZ, PSYCHIC FEVER, LIL LEAGUE, THE JET BOY BANGERZ, WOLF HOWL HARMONY and KID PHENOMENON.

The groups GENERATIONS, THE RAMPAGE, FANTASTICS, BALLISTIK BOYZ and PSYCHIC FEVER are also classified under the term of Jr.EXILE. Aswll as the groups LIL LEAGUE, THE JET BOY BANGERZ, WOLF HOWL HARMONY and KID PHENOMENON are classified under the term of NEO EXILE.

Other than this, their group THE RAMPAGE has their own unit called MA55IVE THE RAMPAGE. There is also a the unit EXILE B HAPPY consisting of members of some different groups that was made after a dance project where some members thought children in dancing and than decided to make a full group out of the project.

Many artists are also working as soloists, models, actors and in some other fields of the entertainment industry. Some of the members are also active as staff members for LDH or dance teachers for LDH's dance academy called EXPG.
