Someone
Ear Shot Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
For every single time you lied
I'd probably whisper this
Hello, goodbye
And so it begins again
Harder each and every time
I start to reminisce
I never seem to ever find
Someone I can trust
Someone I believe
Someone who will never try
To bring me to my knees
Someday I will find again
Someone just like me
Someone who will take the time
In understanding me
And if I could make up
For every single tear you cried
I'd probably never miss
Your hand in mine
I never could understand
Mistakes I repeat again
I've been through this so many times
Never seem to ever find
I've stopped searching
To take my time and completely clear my head
I believe it was meant to be
And I feel it's time to go
And never leave
And never scream
Someone who believes
Never lies to me
And would die for me
In the song "Someone" by Earshot, the lyrics are reflective of the singer's desire to find someone who can be trusted, believed, understood, and someone who will not bring him to his knees. The song begins with the idea of making up for every lie that has been told to the person, and it would lead them to say hello and goodbye. The singer is caught in a cycle of not being able to trust people he meets. The search for someone who can be relied upon is an ongoing process, and the singer has stopped searching to take his time and clear his head. He thinks that finding the right person is meant to be, and he feels it is time to leave and never scream or be lied to.

I remember when Earshot opened for Alter Bridge at a big outdoor Summer show- it was so loud and crazy, just an awesome show.
I play guitar and tend to analyze everything and to me this song just seamlessly flows, it transports me and sucks me into the rhythm and melody to where I don't consciously even give a shit about analyzing anything and that to me is what makes a great song. This song just makes me want to rock out and think to myself 'Fook analyzing anything, just turn it up man'.
