Loved this tune when I rode my Lambretta SX200 all over the North of England following the Northern Soul crowd.
I’m now 68 years of age and recovering from surgery for cancer.
I ended up a teacher guiding kids to university and later in my career lion taming scallies in a PRU in Liverpool.
I had the privilege of being one lad’s best man at his wedding as he made a success of his life but stood at the graveside of one of my lads who was out of reach and took 8 bullets to the chest.
This wonderful music continues to provide the soundtrack to my life.

this was my first motown single , bought in prestatyn record shop , i was 14 years old ... now 50 years later , it still makes the hair on my neck stand up , this is what me into motown , then northern , just amazing , motown quality at its best ... at 15 years old , this was filling dance floors where i lived , pure gold .

When he was awarded the ill fated Saturday Morning BBC Radio 2 show about 20 years ago (Russell Brand/Sachs saga) he asked the audiance to chose and vote for the record they through suitable to become his signature tune. Various pre- selected tunes were played including 6 by 6, he stopped it after a few bars and said " Who chose this? I won't be playing any of that rubbish!"
Never liked him after that , kinda rubbish don't you think!
