Egypt and Red Henry, Both based out of Washington DC, had known each other and played on many shows together. Kevin Murphy and Andy Waldeck, would join up with Chris (Crix) Reardon and Tony Lopacinski even before the dust had settled from their two previous bands breaking up.They hit the ground running, and with the help of a long residency at the famous TRAX night club in Charlottesville ,VA
Soon had a growing regional following. Word of the fledgling bands' powerful stage show, compelling look, and great song writing, reached Coran Capshaw of Red Light Management, and the band was soon under management contract and working hard.
ETA was brought to Bear Tracks recording studio to work with Producers John Alagia, and Doug Derryberry. The result was the album "Simple Machine" which brought the band to the attention of Giant records.
In the summer of 1999, EarthtoAndy signed with Giant records and went to Los Angeles to record the critically acclaimed album "Chronicle Kings".This is the work that is known best by most ETA fans. With a major label budget, The cd got into many hands, and blew many minds. While touring the country in support of CK, ETA met many people and made each and every one of them a fan, and many became friends to this day.
Its difficult to say what was the catalyst for the band deciding to split up, call it an unfortunate set of uncontrollable circumstances, call it the music industry, call it fatigue. In the summer of 2002 EarthtoAndy threw in the proverbial towel, thus ending their hard fought time, and continuing on in peoples hearts and minds. The band members are all friends. It was, without a doubt, the most friendly parting of ways the business has even known. And so their music lives on, and the possibility of re-uniting for a show now and then does as well.

Earth to Andy Lyrics

But you're there, and you're all alone
Every single part of you is screaming to be better than the day before
Is it monday? Yes, it is again
Let me take a break so I can clear my eyes and think
Watch the highway while I'm driving
Open up another can of worms to fish for truth
You're gonna fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
Once upon a time I need to feel the breaking rules
And then cut it straight to the bone
Tap into an artery of common mediocrity and let it go
When I was there, now I'm in control
Open up my mouth to let a world of anger go
But the static in the air isn't all you know
You're gonna fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
Fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
Open up another can of worms to fish for truth
But the water isn't clear, what you're gonna do?
You're gonna fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
Fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
Fall behind the lies
Build myself a new castle
Decide upon what's mine
And move into the everafter
The lyrics to Earth to Andy's song "Everafter" explore the idea of finding one's true self and purpose in life. The opening lines suggest that the journey is not easy, but the singer is determined to push through the difficulties. The line "Every single part of you is screaming to be better than the day before" emphasizes the importance of self-improvement and personal growth. The mention of Monday and taking a break to clear one's eyes and think suggests that this journey is not a one-time event but a continuous effort.
The next verse talks about the struggle to find truth and clarity in a world filled with lies and ambiguity. The use of fishing for worms as a metaphor for searching for truth suggests that it can be a messy and challenging process. The line "tap into an artery of common mediocrity" could mean that society often settles for the status quo and ignores the potential for greatness within oneself. The chorus repeats the idea of falling behind the lies and building oneself a new castle, indicating the need to let go of the past and move forward with determination towards one's desired future.
Overall, the song "Everafter" is a reminder of the importance of self-improvement, personal growth, and finding one's true self in a world full of distractions and deception.
