The lyrics of Eboa Lotin's song "Elimb'a Dikalo" are in the Cameroonian language, Duala. The song is a commentary on the state of affairs in Cameroon, particularly the corruption and mismanagement that have plagued the country for decades. The lyrics employ various metaphors and allegories to convey the message.
The first verse describes a situation where the people are being oppressed and harassed, but they are singing and dancing to distract themselves from the harsh reality of their lives. The "elimba" is a type of dance that is commonly performed in Cameroon, and it is used here to illustrate how the people are trying to escape from their problems by dancing. The line "Na poï somèlè wa mô na munyènguè mwèssè" means that even though they are being mistreated, the people are still singing and dancing.
The second verse uses the metaphor of a broken-down car to describe the state of Cameroon's government. The "mota ndinga" is a broken-down car, and the "a dikome lame la moto a si wèllè bè bodilo" line means that the government is unable to fix the car, and it is just sitting there on the side of the road. The rest of the verse describes how the people are suffering because of the government's incompetence.
Overall, "Elimb'a Dikalo" is a song that speaks to the frustration and disillusionment that many Cameroonians feel about their country's government. The lyrics are powerful and impactful, and they serve as a rallying cry for change.
