The project was borne out of a heavy influence on James from listening to Aidan Baker and Leah Buckareff's project Nadja and being inspired to immediately begin working in a "dronegaze" framework, where the lines begin to blur between doom/drone metal and shoegaze. There have since been other influences, including free improvised jazz, textural and experimental sound art and various forms of electronic music.

Echoes ... Leytonstone Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The phrase "the world is yours, repeat" in Echoes ... Leytonstone's song II can be interpreted as a call for empowerment and self-belief. It is a reminder that every individual has the potential to achieve greatness, and that the world is full of opportunities waiting to be seized. The word "repeat" further emphasizes the idea that success is not a one-time achievement, but rather a continuous process of pushing oneself to be better and reach new heights. The repetition of the phrase also serves as a mantra, encouraging the listener to internalize the message and make it a part of their daily mindset.
At the same time, the phrase can also be seen as a critique of the current state of society, where access to opportunities is not equal and many people are held back by systemic barriers. By saying "the world is yours," the song highlights the fact that this is not necessarily true for everyone and calls for a more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities.
Overall, "the world is yours, repeat" is a powerful and thought-provoking message that can be interpreted in multiple ways, depending on the listener's context and perspective.
