Swedish melodic rock band was formed in Stockholm in 1999 by singer Erik Mårtensson. After having produced a 4 track demo himself, he landed a deal with the English located Z records. To produce what was to become the first Eclipse album,he completed the line-up with Magnus Henriksson (Lead Guitar) & Anders Berlin (Drums & Keys). The first album "The Truth & a little more" was completed and released in 2001 on Z records. It also included guest performances by the legendary Europe guitarist Kee Marcello and Mats Olausson (ex Yngwie Malmsteen) In 2003 they landed a deal with Frontiers records and released their 2:nd album “Second To None” which was a highly critically acclaimed album among the melodic rock audience. This time the line-up featured Erik Mårtensson, Magnus Henriksson, Fredrik Folkare (bass), Magnus Ulfstedt (drums) and Mats Olausson was once again hired as a “stunt-keyboardplayer” in the studio. The album promised to appeal to all fans of such bands as Talisman and Europe due to the heavy guitar approach and the big melodies of their songwriting. Also this record got very well reviewed in the melodic rock audience and created a faithful and strong following for the band. Due to difficulties within the band and line-up changes again, the band took a couple of years off and it wouldn’t be until the summer of 2007 before they started working again. Erik Mårtensson & Magnus Henriksson (who were the surviving members of the band) took 1 week off and wrote the entire album in those seven days. Once they knew what direction to head for, it was quite easy. This time the band had gone for a straighter, classic and riff oriented hard rock. The title for their next release on Frontiers records will be “Are you ready to rock” and the new rock steady line-up of 2008 features Erik Mårtensson, Magnus Henriksson, Robert Bäck – drums and Johan Berlin – Keyboard. And they are ready!

The a cappella vocal band is a six-man group with a first published album ("Once") in 2001.

The Hungarian band was formed in 1990 by Tamás Tisza – guitar, Tamás Barna – guitar and Attila Hudák – bass. Later on Attila Szarvas – drums joined the band. Their music contains elements of psychedelic rock, doom and jazz music. These elements are recognizable in the harmonies and structural setting up of the songs.

There is also a swedish straight edge hardcore band from Umeå that has released some records under the name Eclipse where amongst others the brother of Dennis Lyxzén (from Refused) is one of the members.

While Satoru was not replaced, Hiderin was replaced by Shuji, and Eclipse went on to tour throughout the remainder of 2001 and the first half of 2002 heavily, but eventually ended up disbanding in the summer of 2002. Shuji and frontman Non both retired from the visual scene after the group split and formed the indies group Trick2Soul, which they were both active in until it eventually split in 2008. After Trick2Soul split, Non then retired from the underground music scene in general, while Shuji went on to join the indies group Eternalnote, which also split in 2010. After Eternalnote split, Shuji then retired from the underground music scene as well.

It's more like "soul"ar eclipse you just feel it in the soul. The energy when you are in the path of totality is phenomenal. No pictures I have seen captured it like my eyes and memory, the ring was pulsating, sunrays lashing about and the animals were going wild. It was so extraordinary. Thank you Bend Oregon and the Ochoco National Forest for hosting us with the most amazing time. "Feel free to howl at the moon"

I was in Corvallis, Oregon at the time, and I SAW THE WHOLE THING!! After THIRTY years of waiting, I FINALLY get to see a total solar eclipse! It was so AWESOME!! I had family there, so it was no trouble at all to find a place to stay. I really am lucky, I know that now. The drive back home was awful, but the eclipse was absolutely worth it. Funny thing, the drive there was EASY! No serious traffic at all going there, it was all in coming back. The next eclipse in the USA will be in April 2024, or so I read. I'll be sure to plan for a trip to the totality part then, too. Total solar eclipses truly are beautiful, I feel like I won the lottery.

I remember my first solar eclipse, i was a few years ago, from now. During the eclipse, it was rather cloudy outside, so we were worried we wouldn’t even get to see it. Me, my brother and my mom went to an open fieldwere people were gathering to watch. Just as it was a few minutes from the eclipse, our horrors were realized. The clouds started rolling in and nearly covered the sun completely.
We thought we were going to miss our possibly only chance of seeing an eclipse when we noticed something, the sun was still noticable through the clouds.
The cloud coverage didn’t get very thick until later in the day, so the suun’s light was still coming through. In fact, in an interesting turn of events, the coverage was just thick enough to not only still be able to see the eclipse, but some people were actually able to see the eclipse through the whole thing without their glasses. I know, it sounds crazy to do so, but the light wasn’t that bright to do any harm, only just be visible through the clouds.
I have to say, it wasn’t exactly the experience i thought i’d get, but now i think i can safely say that i was one of many that managed to view a solar eclipse without eclipse glasses, and without losing vision.

The science behind it is pretty cool. I was on the way to class when it was occurring. I live in Los Angeles, so it did not look much different, some people were just starring at the Sun. My eyes hurt looking only a few good seconds. But still normal day.

Fun facts: Solar eclipses was a way to study the Sun's atmosphere in the past. The size of the Umbra on the surface of the Earth is about 160 km across. The planets can be seen during an eclipse. Solar eclipses do not only happen on Earth, but on other planets too. Actually, some planets may have multiple solar eclipses at the same time. The next total solar eclipse will happen on 14 of December 2020 and will be visible from Argentina and Chile.

The reason the sun is more damaging is because since its darker you don't notice your eyes hurting or getting too much direct sunlight. It's the same amount of damage if you looked at the sun when it's not eclipsed, except your mind doesn't detect the sun and doesn't react.

What's the difference between looking at the sun on a normal day and during an eclipse? I've stared at the sun directly before,aside from my eyes watering a bit,nothing happened. Obviously if I stare for too long it'll be worse. Is there any difference though? When I was a kid I always thought there was some magical thing about an eclipse that would blind you instantly. Any truth to that? Or is it the same as looking at the sun on a normal day?

When I was like 5, or 6, I looked at the eclipse without glasses. I actually looked at the sun a couple of times more without glasses, directly around that age. I'm 32 now, everyone around me uses glasses, my eyesight is still 20/20. Idk, maybe I was too young to be affected? Maybe my memory is failing me and I actually just imagined the whole thing and didn't actually see anything?...

I don't know about you people but after school for sport activities I saw the sun, Directly looking at it with no eye damage with glasses, I took it off and then, I saw the rainbow moving colors, it was beautiful, I told my teacher and was impressed while my classmates were in shook, while the other younger ones were trying to do the same, some didn't, It maybe that my eyes were protected to much, or it was just after school, it was the sun because I had my shadow behind me. It's fascinating how the moon is ~400x smaller than the sun but also ~400x closer to the Earth. So many cosmic coincidences no wonder our ancient ancestors were so confused! I'll definitely make a pinhole viewer for the solar eclipse on April 8th, 2024!

I took off my glasses completely during the eclipse and I’m fine. It didn’t hurt my eyes at all. There is basically no light to hurt your eyes during a total eclipse

Sean. There is three lazer reflecters on the moon placed durring an Apollo mission to judge the distance. You can ping the reflectors with a high power lazer and a tracking device like a decent teliscope.

I remember a day back in 1987 on a Monday, August 17 around 10 am in Springfield, Massachusetts while driving home from work, outside went pitch black fast. the street light did not have time to come on. It was like morning had come twice. I can not find any information on the reason for the sun disappearing that day, watching this makes me believe it might have been a Total Solar Eclipse that was missed. I'm, not the only one who saw this. Thanks for the video.

why it's only adviced not to look at the sun during an eclipse? Can you become blind if you watch the sun directly during a normal day? My guess is, it depends on how long you stare at it regardless of the circumstances.
