The band has been pounding the pavement hard since their formation in 2001, touring furiously and earning themselves a cult-like following across the US and Canada. Playing a hybrid style of thrash, metal, sludge, grind and punk, Ed Gein, who call Syracuse, NY home, use their self-described "angry-noise punk" style as a means to deliver their politically and socially charged message. "It's all a matter of being aware and thinking for yourself," says Jenkins. "A 'Judas-goat' is an older animal at a slaughter-house trained to lead the other animals to slaughter. In exchange, the animal is taken care of almost like a family pet until they are no longer of use. A large portion of the world's population falls into one of the unfortunate categories of either being a betrayer or one of the millions of mindless, resource-eating followers."
The band takes influence from such bands as Coalesce and Pig Destroyer.
Pee Wee Herman/Paul Reubens
Ed Gein Lyrics

Hiding secrets behind candy coated exteriors
A book with a perfect cover hiding rotted pages
But don't worry you goody goody, someday you will fall
Someday you will be caught pulling it in a movie theater
Someday you will fall
The lyrics to Ed Gein's song "Pee Wee Herman/Paul Reubens" suggest that even seemingly perfect individuals have flaws and keep secrets that they hide behind a facade of feigned perfection. The reference to a "book with a perfect cover" suggests that people may present themselves as polished and flawless, but underneath that exterior are inner demons and flaws. The imagery of "rotted pages" presents a sense of decay and corruption, contrasting with the polished exterior of the book.
Further on in the lyrics, Ed Gein predicts that the "goody goody" individuals will eventually be caught engaging in taboo behavior, using the example of Pee Wee Herman, whose real-life alter ego Paul Reubens was caught masturbating in a movie theater in 1991. The song suggests that those who pretend to be perfect and judge others for their flaws will ultimately be exposed as hypocrites.
Overall, the song seems to be a commentary on the hypocrisy of public figures and individuals who present themselves as morally superior, while hiding their own flaws and engaging in taboo behavior in secret.
