'Striking new talent Ed Prosek brings a modern authenticity, passion and originality to the British Singer-Songwriter scene and is quickly establishing himself as an up and coming artist with serious prospects for the future.
In 2010, California native Ed Prosek brought his original flavor of orchestral folk music to Brighton. The son of an Opera composer, his musical talents emerged from a formal classical background, including years of study at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, and a stint with the notable Magik*Magik Orchestra. His current project is the culmination of his classical prowess and savvy pop sensibilities; producing a sound that transcends labels or the boundaries of genre. Accompanied by a seven-piece band and a string quartet, his most recent work, his re-imagination of Paul Simon’s classic: ‘Homeward Bound’ has been featured as the soundtrack to the newest Cathedral City ad campaign. His debut release, ‘California’, having sold several thousand copies since its release in June 2012, has established Ed as an artist to watch out for in the coming year. With his upcoming tour and follow up EP to be released Spring, 2013, the excitement and anticipation is building along with his dedicated and ever expanding fanbase.'

Truth
Ed Prosek Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I don't know where I'm headed, I'm just chasing the sun
Oh and the feeling ended oh before it was gone
And it all came crashing down, all I could do is run
And we can't turn back so lay my body on the cold dark floor, it I'll all be forgiven, you can't ask for more.
All we given and all we'd lose it All be forgotten, you can't shake to truth
Truth... Truth
Beneath your forgiveness I can feel your regret.
And I wish I could promise it wouldn't happen again.
We were lost for minute and bear this weight for ever.
It's crazy to think this could be so much better
We can't turn back so lay my body on the cold dark floor, it I'll all be forgiven, you can't ask for more.
all we've given and all we'd lose it'll all be forgotten you can't shake the truth
Truth... truth
Can't shake the truth
We can't turn back oh lay my body on cold dark floor, it'll all be forgiven, you can't ask for more.
And all we've given all we'd lose it'll all be forgotten you can't shake the truth
Truth...
The lyrics of Ed Prosek's song 'Truth' are very introspective and emotional in nature. The first verse talks about the singer's fleeting feelings for someone, which ended before they even started. This leaves the singer chasing after something, without any clear direction. The second line that says, "I'm just chasing the sun" is metaphoric and represents the singer's pursuit of happiness, something that they cannot hold onto. The phrase "all came crashing down" could be a sign of the singer hitting a low point in their life, after losing the happiness they were chasing. The line "All I could do is run" further emphasizes the idea of the singer feeling lost and not having any control over their life.
The second verse talks about the sense of regret felt by the singer and the other person involved. Beneath the forgiveness, they feel regret but the singer wishes they could promise that history wouldn't repeat itself. The lines "We were lost for a minute and bear this weight forever" signifies something that is beyond their control and they can only hope for a better future. The repeated phrase "We can't turn back" emphasizes the idea that what has happened cannot be changed.
The chorus talks about forgiveness and how no one can ask for more than that. The lines "All we've given and all we'd lose, it'll all be forgotten, you can't shake the truth" seems to suggest that things will be forgotten with time, but the truth will remain unchanged. The use of the word "more" at the end of each refrain serves to emphasize the idea of hope and the desire for something more than the current state.
