For real though, there are some excellent new trap rappers. Polo G probably has the most lyrical content of any young MC, and Roddy Ricch is the first interesting Young Thug-esque rapper I’ve ever heard, both because unlike someone like Gunna, he can actually sing, and because he has a wacky energy to his delivery and vocal lines that make him pretty entertaining to listen to.

Despite Future being ridiculously overrated, I don’t think Ed is a better rapper than him, though I’d be lying if I said I didn’t prefer listening to Ed’s rapping. However, if you’re talking about someone like Lil Baby or Gunna, who have made careers out of doing the cheapest, blandest Young Thug impressions they can, hell yeah. Those two are unlistenable, and Ed is at least a passable rapper.
