My mom died in a car accident when I was 3 years old. I was in the same car when the accident happened.
My aunt told me that they found me below the legs of my mom as if she tried to protect me in the last moment.

My aunt took care of me since then and adopted me. Now when I refer to "mom" I think of my aunt. I am grateful to be blessed with two moms in a life time.

Wow, I guess since you were 3 you weren't very sure of what was happening but just know that parents are the most important thing in life and they are the ones that raised you and tought you your ways of life, My mom had surgery and almost died I was so careful with her at the time and I had no idea what to do I was so scared of loosing my mom that I just stayed in my room and cried. Now a year later I listen to this song by my favorite artist and I cry every time, Thanks for this song Ed it makes me feel much more appreciated to have a mom and father that love me very much

My mom is, in every sense of the word, a superhero. At 10 my dad got sick and lost his ability to walk. My mom became the provider of the family and worked so much to give us a good life. When I was 12, she was diagnosed with cancer. Even after her double mastectomy, she forced herself out of bed and into the car because she was the only on that could take us to school. Recently, her cancer has come back. Things aren't looking up. My mom always told me I could sing, but I've never been comfortable doing it in front of other people. I told myself that if she does go, if i find the right song, I would sing at her funeral... I found the right song :)

It hits the hardest when it's your turn to say goodbye. Death is ubiquitous and inevitable. My dad lost his life in an accident (2021). This was just months before my graduation day. He never got a chance to see me in that cap and gown. I never knew pain could cut this deep. Time heals all wounds, but sometimes it feels like time's just shredding me into pieces. I've come to accept i can't shake off this pain, i have to learn how to live with it. What gives me peace and relief is when God took you back He said Hallelujah! You're finally Home. Last week, I was on the way home from the hospital after visiting my 97 year-old Granny (she had a heart attack and a stroke at the same time). I went to visit her that night. When I left, I was listening to Ed Sheeran’s new album, and this song came on. I immediately started to cry in my car after seeing her struggling in that hospital bed. Last night, I came home after visiting her at the hospital once again, and I recorded a version that I hoped to play her – she always loved my singing. I woke up this morning to the heart-breaking news that my beautiful grandmother had passed away. Life is not something to take for granted – hold your loved ones close while you can. I love you so much, Granny. May your heart and soul rest in peace, and your amazing memories live on forever.

I know that when God took you back, he said Hallelujah, you’re home.

Take it from someone who lost his mum, when he was 9. It's truly world destroying. There's no way around it. And contrary to popular belief, time doesnt heal wounds. But it gets easier to accept. One day, it's going to happen, but keep in mind all the good you had with her. All the times she made you smile, laugh comforted you when you were down, guided you when you were lost.

I just lost my mom on the 12 of feb, 2019. She had just finished her rounds of chemo last week. She died of a pulmonary embolism. She was at home, like she wanted, when she left us and this world. As i sat alone in my room this morning, this song came to mind. I immediatly started crying. I never thought in a million years this would happen to me. I am only 16. Always imagined them there at my wedding, imagined them holding my child one day...we cannot help what happens to us but we can help the way we see the world. My father died when I was 10 and this song makes me understand how much I love my mom and how terribly difficult it will be when she will have to leave. My mom and I used to love Ed Sheeran, we played this album and the previous one on repeat. I remember listening to that song with her, I was nearly crying when I was translating the lyrics to her. When she was diagnosed with a breast cancer a year ago, I promised myself to never listen to that song ever again because it was too heartbreaking. I couldn't imagine my life without her, I couldn't imagine that she would leave me one day. She died a week ago. Now I can't accept that this song has a true meaning to me, that it became real. I miss her so much, she was my hero

All I have left of her is a bracelet that she loved... When I wear it I feel like she's right there next to me... I have never spoken to her but I know she hears me... I never hugged her but I know she feels me... I wasn't old enough to know her but I know she loves me... I miss her lots and hope she's peaceful where she is :)

My mother ran an auto parts store for 38 years. She drove us 40 miles round trip to dance classes in Astoria from Long Island weekly. She built up a paper route from 100 to 800 customers. She did what she had to do and I was blessed to be with her when she passed. I miss her terribly.
