I just had my first baby, a baby boy, and I can tell you that just being the type person to write this shows that you were a son worth being proud of, and I bet your mom was very proud of you and its clear that she loved you very much. I’ve lost many family members recently. My aunt, my great grandmother, my uncle, and even more. We have a wall in our house with pictures of them dedicated to the ones we’ve lost. My grandfather has been really upset lately. Both of his parents are gone, and he lost his mom on Valentine’s Day a few years ago. He then lost his daughter a year later to a seizure on Thanksgiving Day. I was just sitting in the living room reading and I heard my grandfather listening to this song, and I just went over and gave him a hug.

My grandma passed in May. We were all there to watch her last breath. She was a mom to me, as my mom had some hard times during my upbringing. She was full of God and powers I can't explain. I did all of this. Cleaning her old stuff, going through it all, rearranging as people took some things. I miss her every day and this song always squeezes a tear from me.

I lost my mom just under a month ago to cancer, with just a months notice beforehand that she had cancer. She died with me holding her hand as I told her just how I loved her and how much she meant to me sobbing all the while trying to stop the onslaught of tears from coming on.

I'm only 23 so I always assumed and took for granted the thought that if my mom was to pass away it wouldn't be until she was much much older and that I would have more time to comprehend what would happen. It has certainly taught me a lesson of how your "I love you" that you tell someone could be very well be your last. Always be quick to love and never hold grudges, life truly is to short for grudges. And ALWAYS constantly tell and show your loved ones that you love them, no matter how you feel about it. One day you may wish that you let them know every hour of every day. I know that I have. My grandma passed away a year ago but I’m still not over it, I’m still in tears everytime I remember her. When I was young I was always sick at the hospital but she was always there , next to me , running from one hospital to another. She raised 8 children and all the 18 grandchildren. I want to become a wise person like her, always fair, kind, strong, caring & there for everyone. She taught me so many things that I’ll always keep with me. It hurts a lot knowing I’ll never see her again and i still can’t accept the fact that I’ll never see her again or listen her voice. I love her with all my heart and I always will! My mum passed away in the early hours of yesterday morning, I remembered this song from when she was in a coma two years ago and we didn’t think she was going to make it. Yesterday someone who's close to us died while doing the holy rosary.

She knew she would die but kept on going till her last breath. She did her best and smiled even though she is in pain because of her condition(we didn't know). "I want to rest" and she did. She was truly the best knowing that she would surrender everything to god. She was an angel that was given a mission here on earth and that is to guide us. I'll always remember her telling us to clean the corridor and the room. Her smile was very pretty when we won and she held the trophy proudly. I also remember her telling us to pray sincerely and to sing loudly and I didn't know that it would be her last. It was just so unexpected to know that she died without saying goodbye to us. Congratulations for graduating life, Let's meet again on the other side and may you rest in peace. We love you ❤

This song reminded of my grandma bc she dies when I was 4 years old and whalst typing this I’m slowly coming to tears and remembering the good times. She was the most amazing,honest and beautiful person ever. When it happened I was confused and sad. If that happened now I wouldn’t talk to any1 for ages and all I would do is cry. I still have a blanket she knitted for me on my bed and the other day my family was gonna throw it out bc no one needs it, I stopped it and kept it for myself to remember her. The first time that I heard this song is when my nan died last winter, even though the song has been out so much longer than that. But my nan was more of a mother to me than my mother was or ever could be. Sop the lyric that says, "You were an angel in the shade of Mom" really got to me. It still gets me. I remember I was driving when I heard it the first time and I actually had to pull over because I was crying so much. It was just so weird hearing that song for the first time just days of my nan passing. I loved Ed Seerean and thought I was after hearing all his songs. Anyways, this is a nice song and if I were to have written a song for my grandmother after she passed nothing would have fit better than this song.....from the day old team cup and pouring the old ginger beer (ginger ale, from where Im from) down the sink.....she was an angel in the shape of my mom, she would be there holding me up...... miss you Nan, so so so much. A heart that has been broke is a heart thats been loved. I am the person I am because of her She taught me to love and care for others and to be the Mom I am today because I would not have learned it from my mom

Three years back, I commented my mum was dying of cancer. I was thirteen years old back then. She survived it somehow. Last month she died of the cancer which has spread further in her body. Mom I miss u so much and I hope you’re proud of me. But I’m also thankful for the three extra years we have had with each other. Thank you mom for fighting for seven years, it made me the proudest I could ever be❤️ I loved you, I still do and I always will love you.

I’m sitting in my room doing my science homework and crying. My great grandmother just passed away almost three months ago. I just imagine my grandma thinking this or saying this at my great grandmas grave. This pains my heart because I miss my great grandma and I never see my grandma cry and at her mothers funeral, she did cry. Even the toughest of people cry. To my uncle who passed away this year..
You were there with me the entire time mum was battling cancer, you motivated me and encouraged me when everyone else doubted I could do it, your words brought light to me and youd never know just how much of an impact you had in my life ... This made me cry a lot. I remember my mom who died 2 years ago. It breaks me into pieces, still. I am still in the process of accepting the fact that she's gone. My grandma, a beautiful soul, passed away earlier this year’s March. She lived to a ripe old age of 89, she sacrificed a lot to me. Without her me and my dad will be in the streets. She was a successful woman. Giving me lots of love. On the very morning she left me, I was busy at home, I was gaming as my dad rushed to the hospital after receiving a call from the hospital. It was said she was in critical condition and breathed her last 2 hours later. Her peaceful soul has returned to God.

To anyone out there, don’t EVER take your love ones for granted, I’ll never forget the day when the news hit me.
