@@artpaul28 hello, I am a very big fan of Eddie Bo. Do you know the personnel for “Funky Yeah!”, “Eddie’s Rubber Band” and “Live It Up”?

As far as I know, James Black is on “Hook and Sling Pts 1 & 2”, “If It’s Good to You, It’s Good For You Pts 1 & 2”, “Sissy Walk”, “Can You Handle It”, “That Certain Someone”, and all of the Mary Jane Hooper material. (I imagine Black is also on the B side “Don’t Turn Me Loose” from 1969, but I haven’t heard the song so I don’t know)

I’ve seen James Black credited for Eddie’s “Check Your Bucket”—is he really on this track?

There are some other tracks from 1970 that I haven’t determined who the drummers were yet. They are “Getting to the Middle”, and “The Rubber Band”.

Also, Eddie’s song “Tee Na Na Na Nay” from ‘63 is one of my favorites from him, do you know who played drums on that? Was it John Boudreaux?

Dib Dab would be a Shinx

@buttguy

craziest part about this track is the rumors that the whole drum track was just a tape loop of james black playing that pattern. the first practical drum loop in history? i dont doubt it either. he usually goes off in that classic nola style, on this track he doesnt stray from the groove even once. not even a fill.

@artpaul28

Hi this is the bass player on this record Paul R. Boudreaux , The drummer on this song is not James Black but a drummer name Bobby Williams , just check out Eddie Bo's A Lover And A Friend and Boogaloo Mardi Gras and you hear the style , . We were Eddie 's backup musician and studio guys
