I discovered this song on the radio, in my fathers old pick up truck after him having passed away due to old age. I was 18 at the time. This happen to be already one of the darkest chapters in life. Love your enthusiasm and I love this music. Fly high dad❤️

Thank you for the nice response but unfortunately my dad had his band before I was born so only got to hear about him from family friends and acquaintances who attended the dances. He gave it up after marrying and starting a family. Have you ever watched Eddie on Town Hall Party? That's where I first saw him and was really impressed with him and the band that played with him. I was searching for Marty Robbins (another of my favourites) and by accident came across Town Hall Party. They have other stars on there as well. @Anne Marie MacKay Hi Anne Marie, I am pleased to know you are not affected by the fires and can keep cool with fans. I am in Wales and while it has been warm and sunny all week it is back to Welsh rain today! It must have been marvellous seeing and hearing your Dad playing in a band and writing music. My father was a church organist so it was classical music only in the house but I listened to radio Luxembourg under the pillow like many others. I do appreciate classical music and opera now but didn't in those days. I tried writing yesterday using the youtube e mail but it didn't work. I can send you my e mail address if you prefer. @Rhod Sullivan I live in Ontario so am not affected by fires only the heat, but it is easy to stay cool with the fans. Is it warm where you are? My dad had a band and played piano and also wrote music for the saxophone if none was available. I much prefer listening to the music of his generation than that of today's music. I guess each generation has their likes and dislikes. Take care.

I suppose it is only right we decry the music of today as the generation before ours did with our music to a large extent but youngsters are beginning to say we had the best music and we did. @Mario Gmajner Dont disagree. but i really dont care. chuck stuck to his guns, and was a nice sound that i like hearing. Buddy and Eddie never got the chance to grow because they died young. Elvis did some ok stuff later on i guess. what does any musician do worth a shit outside of their prime? few do. so dont see your point.

@natetheguitarkid What did 50's musicians do outside of the 50's apart from live in the past. Chuck Berry and all those 50's rockers creative juices dried up.

And this Ed song was one of the worst if you consider the rockers he made and are famous for, example given: "Nervous Breakdown" (Jimi Hendrix wanted this for his funeral - he got it), "Weekend," "My Way," "Pretty Girl," "C'mon Everybody," "Summertime Blues," "Cut Across Shorty," "Pink Pegged Slacks," "Somethin' Else," Twenty Flight Rock," "Jeanie, Jeanie, Jeanie," "Bad Baby Doll," "Don't Bye-bye-baby Me," "Hallelujah, I Love Her So," "I Almost Lost My Mind," "Jelly Bean," "Milcow Blue," "Eddie's Blues," et al. They are many, so many great songs by Eddie. I just mentioned just a few.

roland johansson maybe you didnt like this song, but MANY others DID. and DO. IT WAS THE 50S, this type of song was typical of the era, a great tune. sorry you didn't like it.
