Call Me Irresponsible
Eddie Fisher Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Yes I'm unreliable,
Throw in undependable too!
Do my foolish alibis bore you?
Well I'm not too clever, I just adore you!
Call me unpredictable,
Tell me I'm impractical,Rainbows I'm inclined to pursue!
Call me irresponsible,
Yes I'm unreliable,
But it's undeniably true
I'm irresponsibly mad for you!
Call me irresponsible,
Yes I'm unreliable,
But it's undeniably true
I'm irresponsibly mad for you!
The lyrics to Eddie Fisher's song, "Call Me Irresponsible" depict a person who is willing to admit their flaws and own up to their mistakes. The singer describes themselves as irresponsible, unreliable, and undependable, but they also declare their love for someone else. The singer acknowledges that they may not be clever or practical, but they are passionate and willing to pursue their dreams, even if it leads to chasing rainbows. The song makes a case for embracing one's imperfections in the face of love and pursuing what one truly desires, even if others may deem it foolish.
The lyrics also play with the theme of unpredictability and uncertainty. The singer admits that they are unpredictable and impractical, but this is part of their charm and appeal. The repetition of the word "irresponsible" in the chorus serves to emphasize this idea and create a sense of whimsy.
