Fisher then became a founding member of the Leo's Five Band and decided to settle down in St. Louis, Missouri.
Eddie Fisher worked as Albert King's bandleader before embarking on a solo career. He released two classic albums, "The Third Cup" and "The Next One Hundred Years", blending soul, funk, jazz and touches of psychedelia, in the late 1960's.
Eddie Fisher's third album "Hot Lunch" was released on the All Platinum label, and after that he launched his own indie operation Nentu. In 2004, he was voted into the Arkansas Jazz Hall of Fame.

That's the Chance You Take
Eddie Fisher Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
Perhaps he'll seek a new love,
But that's the chance you take!
Perhaps he'll bring you laughter,
Or tears for ever after,
But that's the chance you take!
You may do all the giving and get nothing in return,
I hope you find the gladness,
But if you find the sadness,
Well that's the chance you take!
Yes, that's the chance you take!
That's just the chance you take!
I hope you find the gladness,
But if you find the sadness,
Well that's the chance you take!
That's just the chance you take!
The lyrics of Eddie Fisher's song "That's the Chance You Take" convey a sense of both hope and resignation towards the unpredictable nature of love. The first two lines suggest the possibility of finding true love, but also acknowledge the likelihood of experiencing heartbreak if the relationship ends. The later lines of the song emphasize the uncertainty of love and the varying degrees of joy and pain it can bring.
The lyrics also suggest the possibility of unrequited love, with the line "You may do all the giving and get nothing in return." However, despite the potential difficulties of love, the song ends on a hopeful note with the repetition of the line "I hope you find the gladness." Overall, the lyrics acknowledge the risks and rewards of love, and encourage listeners to embrace the uncertainty and take the chance.

Thanks to whoever made Carol soundtrack....I LOVE YOU GUYS

We owe Carol (the Todd Hayne's magnifique movie) so many beautiful songs. Ce réalisateur est un génie et l'esprit qui se dégage du casting ne nous quitte plus. It's a pity all the songs played in the film were not all included in the album bought... for instance, Silver bells by Perry Como. Ce film est un chef d'oeuvre insuffisamment récompensé.

I own this record on 78 rpm. My grandma liked this song (and Eddie Fisher), and I inherited this record from her, God bless her soul.
