Although Holland was an early Motown artist who recorded minor hits such as "Jamie", he started working behind the scenes due to stage fright. He is best known as a member of Holland-Dozier-Holland, the songwriting and production team that was responsible for much of the Motown sound and numerous hit records by artists such as Martha & the Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Isley Brothers. Holland served as the team's lyricist, and also worked with producer Norman Whitfield on lyrics for the songs he produced for The Marvelettes and The Temptations.

Another Eddie Holland record that never got the respect it deserved! LOVE this record--and bought it when I was a kid!

Do you remember " Last Night I Had A Vision" which I think was the B side of this. Eddie Holland at his best. Check it out.

One of the first Motown songs I played over and over. Still holds up after all these years. Should have been a much bigger hit.
@colindayo

He was shy when it came to performing before an audience, but lord knows the man could write. As put those two qualities together and you had one third of HDH. Penning for The Supremes, The 4 Tops and from time to times other great Motown artist.You had Eddie Holland.Motown was the Sound of young America. There will never be another Motown HDH will be the reason why this feat wont be accomplished. Motown Forever. H D H forever!

I was living in L.A. when this was released and distinctly remembering, along with Carolyn Crawford's "Forget About Me" there was a new echo sound coming from the control room. Great sound!
