Although Holland was an early Motown artist who recorded minor hits such as "Jamie", he started working behind the scenes due to stage fright. He is best known as a member of Holland-Dozier-Holland, the songwriting and production team that was responsible for much of the Motown sound and numerous hit records by artists such as Martha & the Vandellas, The Supremes, The Four Tops, and The Isley Brothers. Holland served as the team's lyricist, and also worked with producer Norman Whitfield on lyrics for the songs he produced for The Marvelettes and The Temptations.

I remember I had this song taped on an old real to reel battery powered tape player, a portable one that I carry around up on my shoulder and 1965 I was 15, (and im white ha), this was definitely one of my favorites,Used to go out with some girls from East Camden, had a lot of good looking girls in there

But you've heard a lot of songs he wrote, arranged and produced, along with his brother Brian and Lamont Dozier, for, amongst others, Diana Ross and the Supremes, the Four Tops, the Temptations, the Isley Brothers, Marvin Gaye, and Honey Cone. In the U.S., Holland-Dozier-Holland are the third most successful songwriter team after the Beatles and the Bee Gees. Unfortunately, Eddie gave up his solo career in the mid-1960s

Hi Stephen, I'm looking for people who experienced the 60's dance craze era as teenagers and you sound obviously as if you were right there, when it happened. As a record collector and DJ I started setting up 60's dance workshops as a part of my DJ nighters. So together with a friend we teach ourselves the dances in order to teach them to our audience. So far we've managed The Twist, The Frug, The Swim, The Boston Monkey, The Bristol Stomp, The Mashed Potatoes and some others that we could find in the net, but now we're runing out of vids to find examples of how those moves were back then. It's more of a fun thing and it's not so important, if people really get all the steps, but we enjoy ourselves very much doing it and the people have fun, too (sometimes, because we look so stupid). To keep this thing going we're constantly looking for people, who witnessed the time, the music and the dances. @torptom The Stomp was a Philly/New Jersey dance from the early sixties as it had a one two one two beat and or steps , it is hard to explain but easy to do once you get your timing correct..it's all about timing...Yes Leaving Here was a fast dance song and tyes you could stomp to it but it had to be faster than normal . Check out these songs for the perfect "Stomp" music . The Bristol Stomp by the Dovells (Bristol, PA is a suburb of Philly)..Pretty Little Angel Eyes by Curtis Lee & Let's Stomp by Bobby Comstock. As I went to the dances all the time and is a avid song & record collector to this date and also DJ'd as well ..Another great dance was the Wagner Walk created by dancers who went to dance at Wagner's Ballroom in Philadelphia when the DJ Jerry Blavatt was hosting. I was there every Sunday in the 1965-1967 years ,loved Wagner's Ballroom at Broad & Olney in Philly, and Jerry Blavat also did the record hops at Chez Vous Rink above 69th and Market Sts every Friday night .I could hear the music from 3 blocks away when I got off the E bus from Germantown, and we danced for 4 hours straight and had a ball, doing The Chez Vous Walk and,The Wagner Walk, The Crossfire, and The South Jersey. All the best hot music out of Motown were are favorites, along with local groups like The Dreamlovers, doing
"Amazons &Coyotes"
