"Berry Gordy is a man I don't know, I only met him about three times," he said, but "I know he didn't particularly care for me." A great, great song from the Golden Age of Soul before disco sucked
the lifeblood out of it. 1973 was a peak year with Stevie, Sly, Detroit Emeralds
Chairman Of The Board etc.
This was a classic. Eddie was at the peak of his powers with this majestic
epic. The sheer classiness of the musicianship beggars belief.
Back then, people took it for granted.
Forty-six years later, I am in awe.
Damn, these guys could play!
