Eddie and the Tide were a fixture on Bay Area rock radio (a rarity for an indie band) scoring many local hits including Running Wild, Running Free, One In A Million, Maybe I'll Get Lucky, Just Need A Little Rock and 'Till I Can't Run No More. Their video for Running Wild, Running Free won the MTV Basement Tapes and their LP I Do It For You won a Bammie for best independent release.

With sold out shows and local radio support The Tide were always seemingly one step from breaking out as a national act. They eventually did sign a major label deal with Atco Records and released two LP's before being dropped by the label. They released two more indie records before eventually breaking up in 1990.

I saw them when this song was a Bay Area hit. It was at the Inn Of The Beginning, a little church turned into a music venue in Cotati, California. This song is so much better live. They were so young. We all were.

So many good memories. They listened to the wrong people. They should have gone to the top. Few bands had what they had.. The songs , Steve and the boys, all top shelf. Should have listened to the redhead! Thank you for bringing this all back. A band that was truly loved and missed.

It's nothing like it used to be. Gentrified beyond belief. I remember back in the early 80s, me n two buddies rented a condo in the jewelery box in Tola. We were only paying $350 mo!!
When I finally left SC in 2000 we were paying $1850 for a two bedroom condo in the armpit of Live Oak.

I grew up in SC, had no idea the Dream Inn is no more. It was the best Hotel in SC, not cheap either. Alot of what was on the SC wharf is gone from when I was a kid, hell most of SC I didn't recognize the last time I was there in 2019

I think I'm the only one who ever bought this record. Since being an Eddie Money fan and he produced them, I had to buy it. I had it in heavy rotation for a while, it's nice to hear it again.

The legend, Rich Berlin (KMBY) pushed this band. My favorite of my High School years. Bought the cassette at Warehouse Records at (DMSC). Songs were different / better than the CD. If only they would re-release the cassette.

I remember as a kid, this band being the next big thing on MTV...but then it just didn't happen..this is all I heard from them, but I thought I thought it was great. Just like various other bands that should have made it bigger..but I bet they had a great time back in the day!

the thing with these guys was it felt like we all were part of the group and the bigger they got so did we . and the reason they stopped climbing was their looks . hair metal took over and they didn't fit the look .. they'll always rock on for me , I make my 20 something year olds kids listen to them

i don't know...i remember getting the Lost Boys soundtrack and thinking the guy sounded just like Eddie Money. I figured it was just a throwaway fake band name for the soundtrack. I'd swear it's Eddie Money singing that song.
