Heavily influenced by American rock & roll, Mitchell (who went solo in 1963) has often recorded outside France, at first in London, but later in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. Guitarist Jimmy Page and drummer Bob Graham were among the British session musicians who regularly supported him in London.

Offre-moi un dernier verre
Sans faire dans la grande détresse
Je ne suis pas tombé très loin
Je t'envoie des S.O.S.
Toi tu ne reçois rien
Et de moi tu te fous
Et j'ai le bonjour du blues
Je ne vais pas vraiment très bien
Tu fais dans le show-bizness
T'as donc plus besoin de musiciens
Ma guitare est remplacée
Par d'horribles synthés
Ed mo tu te fous
Et j'ai le bonjour du blues
J'ai le bonjour du blues
Je suis speedé, toi t'es cool
Et de moi tu te fous
Et j'ai le bonjour du blues
J'ai le bonjour du blues
J'ai le bonjour du blues
Je suis speedé, toi t'es cool
Mais de moi tu te fous
Et j'ai le bonjour du blues
Je ne vais pas me recycler
Veston croisé, raie sur le côté
Je n'irai jamais tricoter
Des moutons en Ardèche
J'ai l'intention d'insister
De retrouver la pêche
Je te fais un bras, c'est tout
Et je te refile mon blues
T'as le bonjour du blues
Je suis speedé, toi t'es cool
Et de moi tu te fous
Mais t'as le bonjour du blues
T'as le bonjour du blues
Je suis speedé, toi t'es cool
Je te fais un bras c'est tout
Mais t'as le bonjour du blues
The song "J'ai le bonjour du blues" by Eddy Mitchell is a blues song that tells the story of a musician who is struggling with his career and personal life. He asks for a cigarette and a last drink before sharing that he is not doing very well and is sending out distress signals (S.O.S) that no one seems to be receiving. He acknowledges that the person he is talking to, who is likely a fellow musician or someone in the music industry, does not care about him and his problems.
The musician goes on to talk about how his guitar has been replaced by terrible synthesizers, a reference to the changing music landscape and the rise of electronic music. He shares that he is feeling down and out, while the person he is talking to seems to be doing well and is not interested in his struggles. However, he still insists that he will not give up and he will try to find a way to be happy again.
The lyrics are full of melancholy and resignation, with a hint of bitterness towards the person he is talking to. There is a sense of longing to find a connection with someone who understands him and his struggles. The song captures the essence of the blues genre, which is often about expressing deep emotions and sadness.
