L'épopée du rock
Eddy Mitchell Lyrics
Refrain :
Le Rock est notre vie'
C'est la faute à Elvis
Nous l'avons dans la peau
C'est la faute à Ringo
Je viens rendre hommage aux grands
Jerry Lee, Chuck Berry et Gene Vincent
Eddy Cochran et tant d'autres
Qui du Rock fur'nt les apôtres
La légende s'est créée
Dans laquelle ils sont entrés
Arrivèrent quatre génies
Qui devinrent nos amis
Ils ont sauvé la vieille Angleterre
La livr' Sterling peut en être fièr'
Les Beatles ont tout changé
La voie du Rock est tracée
Refrain
C'est un manège fantastique
Voici de la Grande Amérique
James Brown crie il se déchaîne
Otis Redding fait de même
Ca fait quinze ans que ça dure
Le Rock'n Roll a la vie dure
Refrain

Heavily influenced by American rock & roll, Mitchell (who went solo in 1963) has often recorded outside France, at first in London, but later in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. Guitarist Jimmy Page and drummer Bob Graham were among the British session musicians who regularly supported him in London.
