Heavily influenced by American rock & roll, Mitchell (who went solo in 1963) has often recorded outside France, at first in London, but later in Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee. Guitarist Jimmy Page and drummer Bob Graham were among the British session musicians who regularly supported him in London.

On a nos manitous, nos grands sachems
On a nos Mistrals gagnants

In Eddy Mitchell's song La même tribu, he espouses a message of inclusivity and unity among people despite coming from different backgrounds. The song's central message is that we may come from different walks of life, but we all belong to the same tribe. Mitchell comments on how we may not have the same totem - symbolizing that we may not share the same beliefs or cultures - but we all "cracked" at some point when it comes to love ("Je t'aime"), exemplified by confessing on the microphone. Despite having our own "manitous" and "grand sachems" (symbolizing that we have our own successful people in our respective communities), we are all seen as part of the star system, or in other words, we are actors in the wider society.
Later on, Mitchell remarks on the differences between himself and someone else, with one person coming from the affluent neighborhoods and the other in the streets. However, their blood is still mixed and can get along despite coming from opposing walks of life. They may have their own unique experiences, but they still belong to the same tribe. The final scene is of Mitchell and a group of people making the sound "crack, boum, hu," emphasizing that no matter our differences, we are all part of the same human experience.
Overall, La même tribu promotes the idea of looking past our differences and focusing on our shared humanity, as we are all ultimately part of the same tribe.
