All the Time
Edge of Dawn Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
This is how you learn
This is how I'll teach you
To be a better man
A shock for a thought
We don't use pennies anymore
You see
All the time to come
We got all the time to come
We have all the time to come
Under this sun
You'll shake in the intake
This is how you learn
This is how I'll teach you
To be a humble man
The clock's in your head
It strikes the hour that you set
You see
Your dreams look all the same to me now
All the time to come
We got all the time to come
We have all the time to come
Under this sun
The lyrics of Edge of Dawn's song All The Time talk about learning through experience and being taught by another person. The first verse talks about convulsing on impulse and how that is a way of learning. The lyrics suggest that this could be painful, but it's necessary for growth. The singer then claims that they will teach the person how to be a better man. The chorus then repeats that they have all the time in the world to learn and grow.
The second verse talks about shaking with intake and how it's a way of learning to be humble. The clock in the person's head represents the ticking clock of life and how it's up to the person to set their own goals and work towards them. The lyrics then suggest that the person's dreams look all the same to the singer, implying that they know what the person truly wants, and they're guiding them towards it.
Overall, the song seems to be about learning through life experiences and having a mentor or guide to help you along the way. It's about taking risks and embracing change, knowing that there's plenty of time to grow and learn.
