Edgewater is lead singer Matt Moseman, guitarists Micah Creel and Justin "Shorty" Middleton, drummer Jeremy "Worm" Rees, and former Nixons bassist Ricky "Honky Mofo" Wolking.
Edgewater gained notoriety in 2004 after being signed to Wind-up Records and having a lead single on the Punisher Movie Soundtrack and movie credits. The bands single "Eyes wired Shut" was also featured as the theme music for WWE Backlash 2004.
2005, after being told by Wind-up executives that 'rock is dead' and told to change their sound, the band bravely departed the label to work independently. So far in 2006, Edgewater has released their new album "We're Not Robots..." locally to a healthy fan base and started a distribution partnership with Rock Ridge Records/Warner for releasing the album nationally in August.
Edgewater officially disbanded in 2007. Matt Moseman later became the lead singer of June Halo. Micah Creel is often seen on the road with the Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (BRMC) and STP. Jeremy 'worm' Rees is spending much deserved time with his wife and beautiful daughter.
In late December 2016, Moseman died in his sleep of an apparent heart failure. He was married and had 3 sons. On March 16, 2017, a memorial live show was held in Texas to celebrate his life. At the service, the surviving band members performed Edgewater songs with guest vocalists.
I Can't Breathe

Dead of the morning
Your voice overplayed is creeping
Crawling under my skin
And I can't take it
Damn you
Can't you get the message?
Have you no courtesy?
You bring out the worst in me
I can't figure out
Is anybody out there?
All the things you scream about
Do you think of just yourself?
I'm going to start by taking back
So sick of sharing my air
All the trust you shouldn't have
'Cause I can't breathe anymore!
Careless
All of your decisions
You sure make it hard to breathe
Careful
Dig a little deeper
And you'll bring out the worst in me
Have you no courtesy?
Do you really have to scream?
I can't figure out
Is anybody out there?
All the things you scream about
Do you think of just yourself?
I'm going to start by taking back
So sick of sharing my air
All the trust you shouldn't have
'Cause I can't breathe anymore!
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
Over and over like a broken record
What's the time?
It's four a.m. Have you lost your mind?
I can't figure out
Is anybody out there?
All the things you scream about
Do you think of just yourself?
I'm going to start by taking back
So sick of sharing my air
All the trust you shouldn't have
'Cause I can't breathe anymore!
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
I can't
Breathe anymore
The song "I Can't Breathe" by Edgewater expresses the feeling of suffocation in a relationship due to excessive demands and selfishness. The song begins with the singer being woken up in the morning by their partner's overwhelming voice. The singer can't stand their partner's constant demands and the emotional toll it takes on them, feeling like they are losing their sense of self. The singer expresses their frustration due to their partner's lack of comprehension of how their behavior affects them by questioning if they think of just themselves. The chorus asserts that the singer will take back control of the situation, and they won't allow themselves to be suffocated anymore.
The lyrics describe the agony of being in a relationship where space and boundaries have been thrown out of the window. The singer feels like they have lost control over their life, and their relationship has taken over every part of it. The use of the metaphor "sharing my air" suggests that the singer feels like their partner's presence has become overwhelming and suffocating. The chorus builds upon the metaphor of breathing to emphasize how taxing the relationship is on the singer.
In conclusion, the song "I Can't Breathe" by Edgewater is a hard-hitting rendition that captures the emotions of feeling stifled in a relationship. The lyrics are filled with metaphors that bring out the singer's struggle to maintain balance in their life while being with their partner.
