Très belles interprétations de cette belle musique de ce grand compositeur qu'est Edvard Grieg. Raffinement, précisions, sensibilité, tout est au rendez-vous.

well i came here after listening to kyohei sorites rendition of wedding day but i stayed for this absolutely gorgeous set of miniatures. I can't help but draw a number of comparisons between the first piece and the last in terms of piano textures; it's almost as if the first piece is an allusion to the finale, albeit much more gloomy and expressionist. the ballad, set out almost entirely in four-part harmony keeps quite a lean texture but emphasises a rare poetic and poignant expression. overall, you can really distinguish this set from the earlier ones and you can see how grieg's writing matures.

17:53 the only reason i came here

I must admit that I really prefer slower versions of Wedding Day at Troldhaugen. :/ Still, this Salon rendition is great!

@bsdkflh

my thought was that "From early years" was rushed as well.

@skylarlimex

i agree, in particular i can't seem to imagine the coda with the bass chords being banged out like that...

@Protosini

I hope you'll still be aLeif Oveter uploading every Grieg opus consecutively!
