Eddie Cochran, the man behind “Summertime Blues” and “C'mon Everybody,” was killed on April 17, 1960 when the taxi carrying him from a show in Bristol, England, crashed en route to the airport in London, where he was to catch a flight back home to the United States.

That's a very deep thing to think about, I often think of this exact scenario..all the talent and all the creativity that we love, but take for granted could someday be lost forever.....like the movie Blade Runner ..." like tears in the rain" gone forever? It's really sad. But we will all die one day and then what? What will last? What will be eternal? Maybe nothing? Peace

Most popular was FLEERS Double Bubble. Keeps the teeth clean, good for the jaw muscles. Fleers did something to the gum,. not it doesn't taste as good and the flavor is gone in less than ten minutes. That way they sell more. I was 14 when this song came out.. Good times they were/ That's how people dressed and only girls wore earrings, and never more than two.

Another classic song from a bygone age, my mam was a lover of early rock n roll and she loved Eddie. I can remember her cooking sunday dinner with her dancing to this in the kitchen with this song on the radio.

I went to a Stray Cats 2 or 3 years before the pandemic. Before they came on, lights dimmed and this song was being played over the sound system. I nearly wept. It was like how it would be to be at an Eddie Cochrane concert with modern technology.

Eddie Cochran's last concert was at the Theatre where I work. After the show that night he was involved in the car crash in Chippenham. Just this Monday gone 22nd May 23 my assistant and I put up a blue plaque commemorating Eddie on the wall by the Theatre's front doors. Like Buddy Holly, who knows how famous Eddie would have become if he had lived. Apparently, after the death of Holly, Valens and JP Richardson, Eddie was convinced he was going to die too. His manager had said that Eddie was getting really down about it and couldn't shake the feeling.

You have bands like, The Who, and Led Zeppelin who each had one song each in their entire careers break into the US top ten, yet are classic rock staples and well known. Also one hit wonders whose songs are well known . Gerry Rafferty had one hit song after Stealers Wheel, Baker Street and its still getting airplay. I realize the commercials bring awareness. I remember the Kinks, "Picture Book," being used for one. Outside of Kinks fans, most people never heard the song, and didn't attribute it to them.
