Mistakes I've Made
Eelke Kleijn Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Gonna live my life
I can't never leave
Gonna learn to love
Find out what love is

Only hell knows if heaven exist
Who knows if it's better than this?!
Pray I'd never learn from mistakes that I've made!

There's no future there's no past
Beating hearts are all we have
Getting stronger break by break
From all of these mistakes I've made
Mistakes I've made
What path remain
Mistakes I've, mistakes I've made

Gonna feed my soul
Hoping never rests
Tell them we are young
We're not wise
We're just cruel
Loving fools looking for Paradise

Only hell knows if heaven exist
Who knows if it's better than this?!
Pray I'd never learn from mistakes that I've made!

There's no future there's no past
Beating hearts are all we have
Getting stronger break by break
From all of these mistakes I've made
Mistakes I've made
What path remain,
Mistakes I've, mistakes I've made

There's no future there's no past
Beating hearts are all we have
Getting stronger break by break
From all of these mistakes I've made
Mistakes I've made

What path remain,
Mistakes I've, mistakes I've made

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Mistakes I've Made" by Eelke Kleijn talk about the journey of life and the experience of making mistakes along the way. The artist reflects on the fact that there's no guarantee of a heavenly life after death, and that we should make the most out of our current existence. He sings about feeding his soul and always looking for love, hoping to find the true meaning of it. There's a certain sense of acceptance of the inevitability of errors and regrets, but the artist also emphasizes the importance of learning from them and growing stronger with each obstacle.

Throughout the song, the lyrics convey a sense of duality, as the artist contemplates the idea of both heaven and hell, wisdom and youthfulness, love and cruelty, and finally, the past and the future. The artist acknowledges that despite the mistakes he's made, he recognizes that beating hearts are all anyone has, holding on to the idea of growth and self-improvement.

Know what this seemingly drop-less, lackluster, non-festival-worthy song has that half the bassdrum-pounding big room productions you all worship don't? Authenticity. Musical expression. Innovation. A fuck-you to the generic, Vengeance-fueled formula that every other Spinnin' release adheres to.

Thank you, Eelke Kleijn, for bringing much-needed relief and a moment of relaxation to my day, something that all the other festival hits could not do.

Hector Bonilla

If you want to relax go to a Spa or something, this is Spinnin Records, an EDM music channel. The songs posted here are meant to be this boring or to relax.

Hector Bonilla LOL comments like these are why people don't like each other on the internet

if you don´t like big room i don`t care. i like. that tipe of music is incomparable!

Boy Rijniers

It's always nice to have something different. I don't even like the genre, but this song is something I would make an exception for

Radio played this tune and so I looked it up :). Nothing wrong with that

One of the best tracks I've heard in a long time. A lot of people here just don't seem to understand that this music is so contextual -- you'll love the big room bangers at festivals, but when you're at the club at 3AM, you wouldn't want to hear anything other than this.

This man understands. And screw the whole EDM term. It ruins the electronic scene with all these dumb new followers complaining about other music that they claim to be wannabe edm.
