Birds
Eiafuawn Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

I dress like a tree
In the winter on there
You dance like a brick
Always chocking on it
Can't make a plate
You're falling apart
I'm calling you out
There's bugs on the moon
There's fish in the clouds
There's birds in the ground
There's drugs in my mouth
All the girls getting naked
And shaking it out
I'm knocking a post
And I'm shoving it down
I hear them proceed
Like a telephone ring
You'll be popping me up
And you'll care about me
I know it's collapsed

And think there's nothing repeat
Like Jesus

Overall Meaning

These lyrics from Eiafuawn's "Birds" are abstract and enigmatic, creating a dream-like atmosphere where words flow in and out of meaning. The opening line, "I dress like a tree" is a poetic metaphor that could mean many things. It could suggest that the singer wants to blend into nature, that they are seeking refuge from the world, or that they are rooted in something. The line "You dance like a brick" is an unusual comparison, suggesting that the person being addressed is awkward and clumsy.

The lyrics are peppered with surreal images, like bugs on the moon, fish in the clouds, and birds in the ground. These images have dreamlike qualities that support the song's ethereal tone. The line "There's drugs in my mouth" hints at a sense of disorientation or detachment. The singer seems to be observing the world around them with curiosity and wonder, but also with a sense of detachment as if they are watching a movie.

The second half of the song takes on a more accusatory tone, with the line "I'm calling you out" suggesting that the singer is unhappy with someone's behavior. The final line, "Like Jesus" is ambiguous and open to interpretation. It could be a reference to the religious figure, suggesting that the singer is looking for salvation, or it could be a metaphor for a state of transcendence.

on The Voice of Music

Expecting figures to be
Surrounding, spying and talking
With or without him
Unbelievable bad luck
Again and again
Oh, wouldn′t you to, to, to

Manage echoes with pills

Always looking for something
Just fucking let go
Sounds so nice
Oh, isn't it great
Feels so good
But we'll still complain
Sounds so nice
Oh, isn't it great
Feel so good, so good, so good

Lost your patience
Lost your temper
Lost your coffee with cream
All over me
You manage echoes with pills
Always looking for something
Just let go

Sounds so nice
Oh, isn't it great
Feels so good
But we'll still complain
Sounds so nice

Oh, isn't it great
Feel so good, so good, so good

on No More Like That

This song was on repeat the week my long term girlfriend and I broke up. The lyrics tell the story, but I listen to it now healed and healthy and I feel grateful that I understand this song and this song understands me.

The song to me describes my relationship very well. About how I’d take time off work and school just to talk to her at night (-8hrs long distance). Made me sick and ill, my skin is stained with purple shadows under my eyes still to this day and I was put on antidepressants.

“It’s sabotage or move apart” She used to sabotage herself and me to avoid moving apart peacefully.

“She gets to me” because I loved her.
