When you have stars as Vanna & Pat with all the accolades they've created it's undisputed
any team following these two winners will be hard to beat. After more than 30 years fans
can't help but rate the new host & co-host. There's no doubt that the show has been and
certainly is a huge success then isn't it time to move on. All writers and creators of many
successful shows have seen their triumphs come and go. So... doesn't it make a certain
amount of sense to just let go? Show people behind the scenes earn big paychecks too.
For the big money that's paid it's just time to get together put thinking caps in place and
be big time creative once again. No modern short cuts. The making of an award winning
game show or any show for that matter requires no short cuts. All details that were used
in the making of a 30 show was just that, 30 years ago. Just follow the floor plans of the
best of the best as Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy and other winners had and earn those
gorgeous salaries. No fluff. It has to be a work of art to follow the best it has to be the
best. Anything second rate will cost you sponsors and some salaries. It is clearly
understandable there is no crystal ball as to what will and what will not succeed. But hey
it could be with serious and too not so serious focusing the better than best is in your
future and the future of the viewers. Then history can and will repeat itself.

Vanna White has been my favorite celebrity since i was a kid. I watched it in m early years on tv. It's hard for me to believe why they would leave the show considering that their contract expires this year. i just hope they stay on the show cause i'm actually their biggest fan and i'm an expert puzzle solver. It's really unfair that they both would want to leave the show for whatever reason. i would love to get to know Vanna in person. Then again she might try hosting the price is right considering that she was on that show back in 1980. Any thoughts on this?

She can and will be replaced when her time comes. Some TV show franchises are so big, they can weather the storm of a temporary drop in viewers. They said the same about "The Price Is Right", and look what happened: it's still going. Side fun fact: Pat Sajak has a connection to Hawaii. He is really tight friends with a local news anchor in Hawaii Joe Moore. Sajak has even gone to Hawaii just to appear in a live stage play with Moore. The were in the same military unit together and became fast friends.

I used to love watching Wheel of Fortune when I was young and I would watch the WofF and since it's a simple game and I was really good at it I would play along and think I was soooo smart, damn near genius. Then it would end and Jeopardy would begin and wouldn't you know it, I went from genius to low moron in the time it takes to sell advertising between the two shows.

@George Varughese I think that must have depended on the market where you lived. In Northwest Indiana in the early 1990s it was on before. I am almost 100% sure but there will be a slight percent question on that because my dad passed away six years ago and I cannot ask him. He would for sure remember.

@Robert Mosher Right! I live in Indiana and it's been like that for years. Before Jeopardy . Watched it for years. "Jeopardy". Pretty good first round. But I can count on one hand how many times I answered the final round question. Wasn't too bad on Wheel of Fortune. Much easier show. But Jeopardy was a much better learning show, I learned a lot . I did get better at it over time, but the final question still got me. But it was fun. They both were.

I do a lot of Crossword Puzzles to keep my brain active. When we get together my family and I play a lot of word games, also Trivia Pursuit sometimes. Pat might have worked for a station in Los Angeles, but he is better known here for being a weatherman on a Nashville station.
He went to school at Murray State University, just 20 miles from where I live with my wife. My wife knew the minister here in Paris, Tn. whose daughter was his first wife. When he got his own talk show his co-host was a man that had worked on the Nashville station where Pat had worked. He returned to Nashville when the show closed.

These iconic show just aren't the same when life long host leave. Alex died and its been around since I was born in the 80s. I remember watching The Wheel when Vanna was strutting while she was pregnant. There are really no one out there to replace these people. They are like household names like Nintendo was back in the day.

I remember Chuck Whoolery and Susan Stafford. They were awesome too. Pat and Vanna were an adjustment. Overall, they have done well. I just don't care for the show anymore, its changed too much from the original. They've gotten outragious in their thinking- thats producers fault not theirs.

Does anybody happen to remember a show that aired in the 1980s on NBC in prime time. It only aired once and was never seen again. I want to say Penn and Teller hosted it. It was a comedic look at television and how certain scenes are shot and the props they use. I'm asking here because Vanna White made an appearance on this show. She participated in a skit. It was sort of a Wheel Of Fortune spoof, but with a twist. The letters were novelty props. For example, instead of two letter i's, they used "two eyes" with one of those halloween slinky eye glasses. Does anybody remember this or did I dream it?

My favorite show is The Price is Right. I fell in love with that show since Monday September 4th 1972. The reason why I remember that date so well is because I was one of thie first few hours to watch it while I lived in San Diego at that time. I also remember Bob Barker's last episode there on The Price is Right on Friday June 15th 2007. Because that was the most memorable episode! I know that group Carrie is running the show now basically he's doing a bang-up job and what Bob Barker did back in the old days. As a matter of fact The Price is Right just got through completing their fifty first season but we'll start there 50 second season in their new home in Glendale! But if I ever meet one of the contestants from The Price is Right? I might just get a surprise out of it. As a matter of fact when Bob Barker had his 80th birthday special one of his contestants won a new Corvette and then 74 months later a friend of mine got a nice lovely ride in it. In which my friend was very surprised and very excited over. And that's how friendships get started that way.

They had a choice between putting the Ballance "on account" or on a gift certificate. The best choice was a gift certificate since they could use it, whereas the "account" could only be used if they won the game. Please correct me if I'm wrong. I know the IRS has a hay day with these game shows since all contestants must pay a tax on everything they win. T Price is Right is a gold mine for them. Far too many contestants end up selling a lot of what they win to pay off the money grubbing US government.
