The band began as an after-church endeavor when the DuPrees were young. The band was named Moss Eisley, after the Star Wars city Mos Eisley, but for legal reasons the "Moss" was dropped officially when they announced their tour opening for Coldplay. Now they're all grown up and have both headlined and opened for bands such as (but not limited to): Taking Back Sunday, Coldplay, Switchfoot, Snow Patrol, Brand New, Vedera, MUTEMATH, The Myriad, Hot Hot Heat and New Found Glory, and Say Anything, in which Sherri DuPree married lead singer Max Bemis. Featuring ethereal, soaring harmonies and dreamy imagery, Eisley has a sound all their own. They are, however, not without comparison or influence. Their sound echoes to dream pop and artists such as Cocteau Twins or Mazzy Star and to contemporary acts such as Denali.

The bright lights of the city fade
Taking the chase to cover up your eyes
The white moon cast in space
Ooh, something's not right
I can feel it inside
Something's not right
You, you, you, you
You will take the breath from my throat
And you, you, you, you
You will take the challenge, we go about our war
Come inside
You will be one of us painless, one of us brainless
Go to sleep, this won't hurt a bit
Shifting your shape to ourselves
Ooh, something's not right
I can feel it inside
Something's not right
You, you, you, you
You will take the breath from my throat
And you, you, you, you
You will take the challenge, we go about our war
And they will try to make us forget ourselves
One by one, one by one
Call me crazy but they are after us
One by one, one by one
They are after us, I swear
Do you believe it, I believe it too
The lyrics of "Invasion" by Eisley convey a sense of unease and foreboding as the song's speaker describes a situation in which their world is being invaded and taken over, perhaps metaphorically or perhaps quite literally. The opening lines paint a vivid picture of a city that is overwhelming in its sensory stimulation, with bright lights and burning colors that seem to be too much to bear. The idea of "taking the chase" to "cover up your eyes" suggests an attempt to escape from this overwhelming world, perhaps by engaging in some kind of pursuit or adventure that will distract from the oppressive nature of daily life.
As the song progresses, the sense of danger and unease grows more pronounced. The repeated refrain of "something's not right" suggests a growing sense of paranoia or anxiety, with the singer becoming increasingly aware of a threat that they cannot quite put their finger on. The lines that follow suggest that there is some kind of group or collective that is trying to recruit or assimilate the singer, promising painless conformity and urging them to "go to sleep" and "shift your shape" to become like the rest of them. The use of language that seems to imply some kind of brainwashing or mind control adds to the sinister mood of the song, which culminates in the repeated warning that "they are after us" and the call to "believe it".
Overall, the lyrics of "Invasion" by Eisley are cryptic and open to interpretation, but they create a palpable sense of tension and danger that combine with the dreamy, otherworldly tone of the music to create a haunting and memorable listening experience.

I remember my brother playing this album in the car for the first time when I was 6. To this day, I STILL listen to the entirety of the album, shocked as to how much time has passed by.

I've been a fan since I was around 7 because my sister loved them and would play songs, and although I didn't know what they were called or who they were, I fell in love with the haunting melodies and amazing harmonies. Now, 6 years later, I'm a huge fan and seeing them live in two days!
