Constituted as a classical quartet (2 violins, viola and cello) strings, El Club De Tobi was formed in 1996 starting to play at the Montevideo street, in the pedestrian Sarandi and Uruguayan underground.
His repertoire consists basically of topics rioplatense popular song at running versions of Patricio Rey and Ricotta Redonditos but also include musicians such as Jimi Hendrix, The Beatles, Bob Marley, among others.
With a particular sound, El Club de Tobi space is gained in the Montevideo music scene and start playing in small theaters and informal audience.
In 2002 Gustavo Pena accompany "The Prince" in a concert held at the Zitarrosa room that leads to the live album "The Recital".
Due to its scenic ductility already eclectic repertoire, El Club de Tobi has shared the stage with Charly García, Skay Beilinson in the mega festival of Córdoba Cosquín Rock
Always experimenting, El Club de Tobi has scored the classic surrealist film Un Chien Andalou by Luis Buñuel with remarkable success in movies in Uruguay.
Recorded in late 2007, their first live album. The recording was during a spectacular show in the Solís Theatre. The name of the new album "Marimbondo" (Koala Records - Sony BMG)
His latest album is called "Tobismo" edited by Koala Records Uruguay, and Argentina by S-Music.
